Got it with a Kestrel! (video added)

Congratulations, Jason. Glad that y'all had a great trip. You couldn't have been with better people. Was you able to talk Gregg and Cory into getting a saddle?

Corey got a sit drag but gave up on it. Gregg didn’t seem interested. Gregg filmed me on my hunt. We had a great time in the tree. He was shaking when I shot my bear. Hard to find good friends that stick with you to the bitter end. It was an amazing trip from start to finish.

Never had bear before. Can’t go wrong with more onions. At least I hope.

@Scoutman gave me a couple pounds of ground Bear meat last fall and it was DELICIOUS. My wife won’t eat venison at all, no matter how well I hide it. She doesn’t like grass fed beef either because of the mild gamey taste. But, she loved the bear.

Awesome story, sounds like a blast. Congrats on the bear and with traditional gear at that . Way to go!

It was suppose to be an easy shot at bait, relaxed, pick the right angle....
Ended up being the most pressured shot I ever took. Last 30min of the trip, cameraman over my shoulder, bear on alert getting out of dodge. I got lucky. That’s the honest truth. Blessing from the man upstairs.

I shot one at 5 yds once. He was straight under me. Drew the bow (I was cheating and using a compound) and he heard me and lifted his head effectively blocking all the vitals. I stood there at full draw for what felt like five minutes before he finally turned is head to the side and gave me a shot. I thought I was gonna shake out of the tree before I was done! It's some exciting hunting.

Bear taste more like pork... I guess that is why they are called sows, and boars.

You're a bad dude @swampsnyper It's hard to believe you would go hunt bears but you're scared of Saddlepalooza. Weird!!!

I’ve seen pics and videos of saddlepalooza and I was pretty scared but the worse part is I know the scariest parts of that get together wasn’t allowed to be caught on camera. I’m shaking just thinking about it.
