Anyone gone with wearing a fanny pack with their saddle? I was toying with the idea the other day and it seems like a pretty nice solution to having extra space and a no fuss access to your ****. One could almost fit all their "gear" into a good fanny pack. I will probably begin to use one as the season progresses or for longer all day sits. You could strap the fanny pack around your tree to give you some tree storage. once set.
Basically to carry more crap with you without adding much bulk and weight at all.

I used to always wear a fanny pack, that’s all I would pack in with my climber. Now that I have a pack I will prob move that bit of gear over and strap the pack to the tree right in front of me. But this will be my first year so no solid system yet, may do the fanny sometimes and see what works best.

Maybe I should rename this thread.... Tactical Waist Packs w/ Saddle.....
LOL :p just another way to give you some storage, especially the minimalist guys. The pack could maybe even be used as a back band, but that may be pushing it.

@cmbetke check out the thread “New to saddlehunting - where to hang my pack” for some more info. I have a picture there of the Cabela’s 7 pocket fanny pack I use wrapped around tree while I’m hunting.

Thanks for the info. I was just curious if anyone uses one specifically while saddle hunting.

I lvoe my fanny pack when rifle hunting and sitting in stands. I can't imagine it would ever get in my way of climbing or saddle hunting and would be a very light and no bulk way to have some storage. Yesterday I played with putting a fanny pack on first then my saddle and the fanny pack helped support some of the weight from the saddle.....I reckon like a reverse battle belt, with pouches already integrated. I will use one and set up with one and snap some pictures. I don't see why more people wouldn't use such.....unless most people just NEED a pack to tie their sticks too or something.

I plan on using a tactical ab mounted assault pack a lot with my modular assault harness this year.

I have an old fanny pack that has padded sides. I am going to put it on and use it for cushion and see how it works in my no saddle/bridgeless method this year.
