Usually I go all weekend and maybe a couple of times during the week. I usually save most of my vacation time at work for season.
I have a couple of target bucks I'm looking for on my club land but on the public land I hunt I'm not to picky.Screenshot_20190902-103326.png

I haven’t pushed the cams like I usually do. I have a few out. But nothing on them yet that im interested in. I found a matched set of sheds last year that went 136 and change with a 15 inch assumed spread. So there should be a good one out there somewhere. I hope to get some pics soon, but looking like this year I’m just gonna go into season not knowing what I have. I hunt public land in Kansas on my yearly trip and have a pretty nice private place at home in Mississippi. I also dabble on some nearby public at home. Weekend warrior all
The way and unfortunately I work a lot of weekends. Hope that lets up some this season.

I’m medically retired from the Army and legally not able to work anymore (first year of that this year), and its been driving me insane all summer. Ten more days and that all changes. I’ll be able to hit the woods as much as I want to. I have family owned private land that I have some cameras out on, but nothing is showing up on my two cell cameras in travel corridors, and I don’t know whats on my cameras set up on food plots yet. I’m not expecting much though as my dad has had oil people in there running around all summer and they are still there. I’ll be doing a lot of public land hunts this year, I have a lot of good areas scouted but no cameras out there.

My statewide season starts in 2 days! I can’t wait. The WMA I got drawn for early archery was brutal. All hill country with relatively low deer density. Tonight was my last night to hunt it and I almost got a doe down but she busted me last minute. Can’t wait to start hunting my much flatter land again.

I have been out two evenings after work so far. Passed a doe on the opening afternoon and today hit some public land and had 5 does come through all less than 10 yards and never knew I was in the world. It was all I could do not to shoot one! But 100 degree temps and weekday after work hunts save doe lives haha.

I’ve been out a few more times have not had much luck. Blaming the record setting heat. 99 degrees yesterday in Tennessee in October! My buddy just pulled a card though and sent me this guy! Hoping to have a crack at him.

I hear you on the record setting heat. I'm hoping the temperature starts dropping before the 15th when our season opens in Alabama

Went and walked some public ground today checking for sign. No deer sign but tons of hog sign. Eventually walked up on a few and was able to slip right in on them and take the biggest one out at maybe 5-6 yards. Can’t wait for some cooler temps! I did have a few decent bucks on the cams this week also. Things are shaping up

Here are a couple trail cam pics. I will
Be after the big bodied one. Hope to see that 6 by 6 in another year or two. He has the genes. The big brow buck my wife likes so maybe she can get an arrow in him.
