How does it compare to the original? I bought an old TL this year for my first saddle - it is a medium and the leg loops are annoyingly floppy - especially climbing down the tree. They constantly get hung up on climbing sticks. I'm 5'9" 170lbs fyi. I'll be curious to see what the M/L looks like when you get it

It's been a while since I hung in an original, but the new one is definitely sleeker. The L/Xl is smaller than the old medium I used to have. Lighter too.

Good review! I’m pretty excited to order one, I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on one of these for a good while now!

Pic of trophyline size l/xl and kite size 2.

Hey Nutt, can you do a pic similar to this one except have buckle sides up? I'd really like to see the waist buckle & leg loops. Also, can you do an overlay pic, i.e. the kite laying on top of the TL. I have a Kite (love it) but also had some interest in a Yarak. It seems like hell could freeze over before the masses can get their hands on that, and if the TL is as wide from top to bottom as it appears, it looks like it may fit the bill.

Thanks

I agree I’d be ordering one for sure if I wasn’t forced into buying all the other stuff I don’t need with it.

Also where are these being made?
There is definitely talks of down the road selling just the saddle but at this point kit only.
The saddles are being made over seas, in China. That is not a secret. But I imagine the price point and inventory reflects that.

Where the skys are so blue!
Hey guys, sorry for the delay in posting those pics. I was running a 102 degree fever yesterday. Maybe don't order spicy chicken sandwiches from the Burger King?Anyways, I should have them up tonight.

Just ordered a lav mic and tripod for my DSLR too. Should be able to do an on-the-tree video this weekend with the new setup.

@Nutterbuster, How does the TL compare to your Kestrel when sitting? I have never sat in a TL and the more I keep looking at that bridge angle and without bridge loops it appears the bridge will pull almost straight up and not allow the bottom strap to 'cup' your rear?

I have almost pulled the trigger on this saddle several times this morning but, haven't because of that reason.

The couple of times I've sat in it, I've just run the tether a little higher. It's a different design, but not a bad one at all to me.

It's more comfortable than my size 1 kestrel for sure, and it's too close to call between the TL and a size 2 kite so far. I haven't had an all day sit in either one yet, but they're both perfectly wonderful to sit in for 3-4 hours.

My old TL would give me hip pinch like crazy. Now this was years ago and this new saddle might be different but I didn't like it so I sold it and went back to my Treesuit. I would love to see a review on the Kite and the TL.

How easy is the waist buckle going to be to switch out?

Should be a cinch. 20 seconds if you have a no-sew 2" cobra and a pair of scissors I'd imagine.

I'll probably cut it out entirely. You don't need it if you don't induce slack in your setup at height. The old ones didn't have them. The bridge was the waist belt.

Now that the saddle only option is available Friday, I’m thinkinking of canceling my H2 and going with TL. You or anyone sat in both and can give some comparison feedback?

Help please !
I order a Trophyline saddle and im a newbie to saddle hunting. And I am a big boy. I will weigh in around 300 to 315 with all my gear gun included . But I noticed that the Prusok rope on the tether has a brake strength of 2400 pounds so 10% of that would be 240 lbs am in danger of the rope breaking under my weight ? If so what should I use? Thanks for your advice.

You could swap out with a ropeman 1
