very cool!
Good call. I have a throw rug I'll use that will double as a ground cover at the back.Only thing I saw to question is something to go between the table and the metal racks to cut down on rattle in travel mode. Sweet build, great job.
I too need to see what I can fit in a sequoia. Yee yeeThat thing is awesome. I'm looking forward to doing some more truck camping this year.
Sir, you are riding in the holy grail of steath ninja "sneak up on a camp site" vehicles!I too need to see what I can fit in a sequoia. Yee yee
Your right. This is a modified version of that. This one swings away and doubles as a side table when the hatch is open. Otherwise, the standard basket is in the way. Would have to completely remove it to use the back.I was wondering about that I thought someone mentioned a gear basket like you place in a hitch receiver

You ain't going to see deer this year bro. Lay up a night in one of those hammocks and you'll sleep right through grey lightCritical overlook! Where the hell am I gonna put deer?
I have a hitch hauler basket, and I worry about exhaust heating/fouling anything I carry in it. I try to avoid it. I would prefer front mount too.IMO I would add front reciever hitch and build a deer hauler for up there so it doesn't interfere with hatch open activity....that way when u have a late track on a cold night u could leave the deer up front and make quick dinner and go to bed and start cleaning in the AM
As long as the vehicle cooling system is working ok I doubt the body would block air flow enough to cause any overheating issues
My dad's boss and his brothers have an old camp jeep with a folding front rack that serves as the 4-wheeler up at their place. It has probably carried hundreds of deer, including a few of mine. No issues with heat.I have a hitch hauler basket, and I worry about exhaust heating/fouling anything I carry in it. I try to avoid it. I would prefer front mount too.

That is one sweet rig, and for the type of hunting and frequency of hunting that those fellas do, its certainly justified. The PLVOD is a parking lot queen, and will rarely see a dirt road. Public parking lots at that. Sleep, eat, go hunt. Her only function is to provide a base camp for public hunting areas over 2 hours drive from the house, and do it incognito, so as to deter/not capture the interest of meth heads and crack babies that frequent said parking lots.THP just did a feature on Sam Soholt's van, which seems to be a MUCH more expensive version of the PLVOD. You might get some inspiration from what he's done, but the PLVOD already has so many great features, so not sure how useful it'll be.
Can't you use the normal hiCritical overlook! Where the hell am I gonna put deer?
Gonna make this swing away arm and basket this week. Already added the hitch receiver this weekend.
Any suggestion on this design?
