What type of sights do you guys like? I'm not asking brand I'm asking if you like pin sights or slider sights?

Multi pin slider, so 3 pins on a slider sight.

When I started bow hunting I used a pendulum sight with tons of success. With the premise being that whatever distance the bow could achieve a flat trajectory before the arrow started dropping, that was to be the maximum effective distance the pendulum sight could be deemed reliable from any elevated position. But now since the bows are shooting a million ft per second I use pins. Still try my very very best to never shoot at any live animal over 35 yds. High percentage shots yield high percentage results no matter what kind of sights or broadheads you choose.

I have the HHA kingpin right now. I'm thinking about buying the three pinhead for it. Generally Axcel sights are my favorite. However the only thing I did not like about the AccuTouch is that the scope fits on the sight with a round tube. To me that looks like it could turn or move on you. I like the scope on the HHA that has a more square tube so when you tighten it down it cannot move

I switched to a single pin 3 years ago and really have liked it. I recently got a 3 pin slider and am trying to figure out if I like that as well. I just really like the openness of the single pins sight picture......

I am using a single pin now. I tried the 3 pin slider sight but after shooting single pin for years it was hard for me to get used to a more cluttered sight window. Simply put it was too much for me to get used to due to my simplistic setup up for many years. Lol if you are interested i have a CBE hybrid tek pro dovetail mount 3 pin slider that i bought new this year. Its like 350 brand new but if your looking to buy one let me know I'd be happy to discount that to $125.

My slide bar sight is set at 20 - 100 yards. For a good kill yardage, i dial the yardage pointer to 27 yards and leave my sight there for hunting season.
If my target is at 37 yrds, i will hold my sight just under the top of the lungs. The arrow should cut the top of heart or center punch the lungs. If the deer is under 27, hold just a little lower but not much cause the arrow is still climbing to the 27 yrd mark. My bow shoots 300 fps. The speed of bow and the hight of your peep makes a difference in what yardage the arrow will hit, making a difference on where you set your pin. 27 may not be the correct yardage for you,, 32 could be.
32 was for the last bow i had. It shot 278 fps.

I do the same. It seems 27 yards as mentioned is about the optimal setting for many bows. If you practice this way you will see your drop between 27 and 40 yards. For me if I am set at 27 yards I will be 2" high at 20 and 2.5" low at 35. After 35 yards it really starts to drop off. That said it is not to hard to compensate and hold a little high out to 40 but you do need to know what your specific setup is doing as it all relates to arrow speed. But knowing this allows you to shoot out to 40 yards with out an issue if you do not have time to adjust your sight or if a deer moves after you are drawn. If I am going to shoot past 40 yards I want the deer to be relaxed enough and me to have the time to adjust my sight to a known yardage.

I really like the single pin slide bar. I only need that one pin and i have a clear view of the target. Plus it makes me slow down and concentrate more on where to hold the sight to make a clean kill. One other thing, i dont ever accidentally shoot off the wrong pin.
This is my sight and its locked in at 27.

Thanks, this is an interesting method. I love the idea of having one pin to avoid confusion but I'm not sure about aiming high and low and all that stuff.
 
I understand why a person might hesitate with the concept of holding high or low but if you shoot a multiple fix pin sight you end up doing essentially the same thing if the deer is between your pins yardages. But absolutely shoot what works for you and what you can be most confident with.

I agree! It happens occasionally but my pins are so close together that I'm not sure I even notice doing it. Perhaps I'll pay more attention when I break out the bow in a month. I may get one of these single pin sights and mess around with before the season starts. Maybe I'll fall in love with it.

Honestly, i believe you will love the one pin.
You will be able to dial the yardages that you wanna practice at and then return the pin to your hunting yardage.
I practice at long yardage, 60, 70 and i play at 80, 90 100. Practice longer distance makes the 20 - 40 yrd shots easier.
You practice this and you will understand why we like the one pin system.
I suggest you to buy a sight that come with yardage tape. Sighting n is so much easier.

Has any one tried the E-Z-V. I just bought a new Truglow Range Rover Pro last month and love it but after checking out this new sight I may try it.
