Where the skys are so blue!
On top of being one hot little piece of azz with a sharp sense of humor, my woman has let me go out-of-town to hunt the last 3 weekends. She let me go scouting the SOA I hunted on our anniversary. She helps process deer once they're broken down into primal cuts. She makes me squirrel dumplin's. She drinks miller lite, but not so much that I run out before I hit that sweet spot. She's gone to 2 Bob Dylan concerts with me and paid both times.

Not only all that, but tonight I was having issues with the brake lights on my hunting truck. I replaced the brake fuse to no avail, grumbled a bit, and started looking for someone to help me out with it. She heard me grumbling, walked outside, looked at the fusebox, saw a fuse for emergency flashers, and asked if the flashers were the brake lights. I looked at her stupidly while she pulled the blown fuse...Yep. New fuse and the brake lights work again.

Pays to marry a mechanics daughter! Either she's wicked into me to put up with my BS, or she's trying really hard to get me out of the house this weekend so she can have some time with her more competent and better looking boyfriend. ;)

You did mention she could have a boyfriend as long as he was loaded. I don’t recall you mentioning competence being a requirement

My wife is pretty awesome. She had no idea I was a hunter until we got back from being stationed overseas and I got back from deployment. She took it in stride but doesn’t like me killing “Bambi” but gives me plenty of opportunity to hunt. She gets annoyed when I don’t come back with a turkey. She’s ok with me teaching our spawn how to hunt. I’d say that’s a contender

My wife works two full time jobs to support the family, and pay for daycare and stuff like that for our three kids so that I can do what I want like hunt, and fish, and recover. Sometimes I feel bad and wish I could help, but honestly can’t think of anything I could do. Anybody know how much a maid would cost to help her with all the house work? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a keeper.

My wife is the best thing that ever happened to me. I would have been broken in a gutter long ago without her. She rescued me from self-destruction as a young adult and has helped me build a beautiful life with two amazing kids. I owe everything I have to her. She is beautiful, talented, funny, and supportive. She is an incredible worker and earns way more than I do, and deserves it.

She has put up with and embraced my obsessions from the beginning, including 25 years as a high school football coach being gone all fall, and busy or distracted year round. When this transformed into an adult-onset obsession with all things outdoors she continues to provide support to the fullest. She eats what I bring home and she encourages me to get out when I'm struggling. One of my favorite things is that every afternoon while in a tree I get a text from her right on schedule that says something like "It's almost the magic hour! Sending good vibes! Good luck!"

She's the best. I am extremely lucky to have found her.

Could be that she's just plain starstruck from watching your gear and beer YouTube shows!

Not sure what it would cost, have you looked into selling any of her stuff to cover it ?

@Nutterbuster, sounds like we're both lucky guys. In over 25 years my wife has never once complained about my disappearing into the woods for extended periods of time during deer season. This is a pretty typical year for me so far, two 4 day weekends and two 3 day weekends spent away from home hunting from the camper. Thursday night I start my rutcation and will wander off for 18 days. During that time I'll only head home probably 2 or 3 evenings for a shower and a real bed overnight. She even cooks me meals to take and heat up in camp so I don't have to deal with that. I have truly been blessed with an understanding woman.
