Where the skys are so blue!
Missed a doe this morning on the ground. Shot right at grey light and didn't see the innocent little hickory sapling that was playing defense.

Should be up to 7 deer by now. A buddy joked that I miss more deer with a crossbow than anyone he's ever met. Ha ha....ha.

Oh well. Gonna polish off some of this venison sausage I just made up, do a few honey do's, and see if this wind and rain blows out so I can hit it tomorrow.

Thanks, how tough is it to make sausage?
Breakfast sausage...not very. Just a matter of grinding up your deer and fat, mixing the seasoning, and stuffing it into the little Jimmy Dean bags.

Haven't fooled with cured or smoked stuff yet, or casings. The breakfast sausage was good. May buy casings and do snack sticks next.

Nice buck man congrats. Hunting has been painfully slow here for me, been out everyday almost and just aren't finding the deer. All private land spots that have always been productive, not sure what gives, definitely not a pressure issue, I'm the only person that's in there untill general firearms/dog hunting season. I slipped on the backside of my farm this morning, which I usually reserve for guests and a select few sits during prime rut, it's a doe bedding area that is more of a preserve. Found a nice sized rub within 20 yards of stepping in the woods. Relatively fresh, past week or so.
