i was wondering if you guys that hunt out of saddles have tried to figure out a way to put yourselves away from the tree enough to avoid knee contact? I was thinking maybe two short, stout aluminum pieces with a bolt through one end to hindge, or two small hindeged plates. Kinda like this picture. It wouldn't have to extend very far to provide some relief. It seems doable, has anyone tried something like this? If it was held up by your tree rope and the lower piece had a pointed end or V to stick into the tree. It might complicate swinging around the tree but I think you could carefully stand and lift rope out of the channel and disengage lower end down to a vertical position against the tree. Would this work?
