What will you change/improve for next year?

We all love to tinker with our gear and procedures. What do you plan on changing for next season? I’ll go first:

Currently I’m using a 1st gen H2 saddle, wild edge steps, gen 1 wild edge platform, and recently took the time to make a good quality knaider /swaider.

For next year I’m definitely going to upgrade
To an oplux LR and bridge (100%). I’ll probably braze/weld the WE platform to one of the steps (I messed with heavy duty zip ties for a few hunts. 75%). I might look into other platforms (25%).

I'm looking to start one sticking and rappelling down. Currently have Muddy pros but will likely pick up a Shikar or something similar in weight as well as rappelling gear.

I’m going to pre drilling a handful of locations to use bolts. Lugging around sticks gets old. I’ll still have to use them on public however.

I plan on upgrading some of my camo and base layers.

I need to start killing a doe or two early in the season instead of putting pressure on myself later in the season.

This year I have been carrying SRT gear along with 4 Beast sticks and a Mission platform. Next year the 4 sticks will be replaced by one ultimate stick. I’m really going to work on going in light. My pack and saddle carry better than my old Summit but I doubt it’s any lighter with everything I carry. Done with that.

^^^^^X2^^^^ I have an Ultimate Stick on the way as well. I've played with one-sticking in the past, but I am going to give it my full attention next year. COVID vaccine and One-Stickin'........the Ultimate Combo! LOL

Spurs. I made myself a DIY tree squeeze i need to test out.. I mainly use bolts but sometimes the stand location is off and spurs will make it easier to move locations during the season.

I couldn’t agree more, although I say the same thing every December

I'm planning on cutting off the utilibridge on my @always89y saddle (best saddle ever) and switch back to webbing. Utilibridge is a pain. I plan on switching my mono repel method out to a safeguard and maybe cut down my @DanO aider onestick just a bit shorter... 18inches is a pain to pack.

For next year I will be doing some local public land hunting. Hoping to start scouting in the early spring.

Also going to finish my one-stick - a mini-shikar. Just need to add the Scout platform.

Finally, hoping to get my daughter into saddle hunting, and hopefully one-stick climbing herself. This season was her first for hunting and she got a doe on her first hunt out.

Beyond that, for now anyway, I’m pretty happy with my setup. But you know how that goes. There will always be something that will catch my eye and take my money.

Maybe I'll finally convince myself that changing arrows, broadheads, platforms, etc. alone isn't going to put deer in the freezer. Need to do more prepartion with post season scouting. Also practice with my setup like I'm hunting. Just get proficient with the equipment I have. I'm always tinkering with things right before season and should be focusing on finding deer.

Yep, I keep wanting a new bow, but I know that my current bow and arrow setup is not holding me back....seeing how I have not fired an arrow yet this season at game!

I know that feeling. I change broadheads, arrows, sights, rests etc. and can go all season without sending an arrow. None of that stuff matters if there aren't deer where I'm hunting to even shoot at.
