I've been hanging in the backyard a little and doing some target practice the last week or so in prep for season. I currently use the below sitdrag with back rest in conjunction with a rock harness as my fail safe.

While doing my practice rounds I noticed that my leg straps on rock harness made it a chore to get at my phone which was in my pants pocket. That is why I decided to put together the below holder.

What I like about the holder is that I can have my phone right infront of me and it's easy to access and put back if in a pinch. Below is some pics of the mount and how I did it. The magnet is very strong and has been tested in my car for over a yr. I hope that this can be helpful to someone that may also be looking for a better solution. Also, you could add magnetic s to other key items and do the same thing.

I got a "when are you coming home? There's nothing out there" call from my wife once while I was at half draw.....it was on vibrate...but that was too loud

That sucks. I have a chickadee call as my ringer. Have had it go off plenty of times with deer nearby and they pay no attention

My cell phone is generally either in my jacket chest pocket or in the mid thigh pocket if it's too warm for the Woodbury. I do like that idea though. It would work well for an action camera angle.

I prefer to keep my phone muted and stored in a shirt or jacket pocket. God forbid that I ever fall, but if I do experience some sort of emergency, I'd prefer to always have it within easy reach. Plus, it would be just my luck to leave it up in the tree, only to realize it as I arrived back at my truck. I can't even begin to count how many of those little screw-in bow holders I've left out there.

Very good point on falling out of a tree

HME screw in cup holder works well, but like many have said keep in ON you at all time in case of a fall.

Thanks,
Boswell

I was thinking of doing something like that, how did you connect it to the phone?

The more I thought about it the more I think I'll just hold onto phone in case I fall. My phone has a case that has a magnetic back. That's how phone stuck to magnet it mount

I'm with you on holding it, sorry I wasn't clear, I meant how did justsomedude connect a lanyard to his phone. Neither my phone or case have a hold for a lanyard. Guess I could just get a different case, lol.

Random thought, could you use the magnet on the outside of your shirt pocket or somewhere handy and still have a lanyard in case you fall? A magnet holder might be easier than a pocket and if it's on you all the better, right?

My case is Rokform. It had magnet on back and also a spot for lanyard.

Just a warning....Test it out with you phone on Vibrate. I bet that ring can make some noise.
