Put a 2 step aider on it and leave the sticks at home! It’s easy to cross limbs this way.

Maybe I'll give it another shot. I tried that earlier this year and this old body had a hard time getting over the front of the hand climber. It could be where I had the aider connected. I may have had it too far forward or too far back. I'll giver it another whirl. Thanks!

I have yet to try an aider with mine. That was the reason I decided not to use my hand climber was being limited to straight trees like my summit climber. This would eliminate that and add to one of the reason I went to a saddle for this year. Will need to try this method and practice a bit with it

I'm one sticking, but will SRT if I actually have time to pre-set/scout. But i'm surprised at the lack of vote for spurs. For a while I thought that was the preferred method if allowed.

I never thought I'd pick one-sticking over spurs but I am.

And I love Love my spikes...

I think that is because a lot of the folks on here hunt public. Spurs may be the preferred they just can't use them.

Why would anyone choose something over bolts?
Because each tree only gets set a few times a season and you don’t want to be limited to only trees that have been prepped well in advance.

I went to the JRB Hitch climbing method this year. Only thing I had to buy was a couple of extra biners.

Just started one sticking this year, cant tell if I should feel old or young when you are saying the method is OG....
Well it's the bad boy of the climbing world, the rebellious kid always surrounded by controversy. Feel young my friend!

It's the preferred climbing style of true men, the type that just go about their business getting it done without complaint, don't care what pronoun you use or feel they need to post every moment of their life on social media.

In other words, a dying breed.
