Because I have to cut the versa buttons down to make them fit. Just trying to think outside the box.

Red squirrel,

What do you mean you have to cut the Versa buttons down? I wanting to add them to my hawk heliums this week and am trying to do my homework ahead of time. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

probably so the sticks stack. Ive seen some pics of guys countersinking the bolt heads into the button and others drilling a hole into the back of the next stick for the bolt head to fit into like lone wolf sticks

Did you ever try this? Im thinking its faster than the versa button and straps
Like did anyone ever install one? There's some that have. I have them on mine with 5mm Sterling static accessory cord.

I’ve been looking to put one on too, but just started looking. I just today replaced the looped webbing to the 8mm rope and button and it is much easier to loosen and move stick. The cleats should be the easiest I’d think and it’s what is on most of the videos I’ve seen with custom one sticks.

I'm still using the 3 stick but, the straps are such a pain. I'm going to switch all over to cam cleats. What kind of rope did you guys use and where did you get it?

I’ve just got 8mm static climbing rope off Amazon that came with looped ends and 2 carabiners…..too small for the rope man 1s so I got 11mm line and am starting out with that. I do have the 8mm set up for a rappel if I ever get that far.

I have a mini that I plan on one sticking with this year. I bought the line and cleat from Dan-O. So far so good in the yard!

I like mine so far. Used it twice last year, it’s a shortened full size stick. Mines cut to 16 inches. Just added the hsp to it with grade 8 bolts on the platform and standoffs. Haven’t got to try it yet since the modifications.

Will standard bolts work for the cam hardware?

It depends on the cleat you're using. If I recall correctly the cleats I got off Amazon worked with the 1/4-20 bolts. There's a write up on the forum somewhere that says what bolts to use.

grade 8 or stronger for anything life-supporting. (the ones with 6 lines on the end)
