Hi, all.

Decided to finally join the form. I've been using the tree saddle since 2008, and have thoroughly enjoyed using it over the years. I hunt mostly state land in the DE, MD area, and find wounded game for people with my trusty tracking dachshund in my spare time.

In Delaware as well. We need a pic of the dog.......

Seriously, they are a tremendous asset. Pretty good to know as I have to tell at least one person every year...."Should've called the dog guy...." Only one I know is Andy Bensing and he's in MD mostly. I've been a retriever guy my whole life but have turned up the heat on the wife and daughter about a wire haired "house" dog.

If they legalize using one in NJ I will consider getting one. I used Andy Bensing up here once and it was one of the coolest things I've ever watched. I called him because it had rained like 3 inches over night and I knew there wouldn't be any blood left. The dog got on the trail and followed it right to the deer. I probably would have found the deer by walking around searching but it was such a cool experience to see that.

Welcome! My in-laws live in Newark, DE. Would love to hunt there but nobody on my wife's side hunts so it just hasn't come together yet... maybe some day.

So cool. I'd lose a lot of hunting time if I had a stud tracker.

Andy's dog did the same for a buddy. 20 hours since the shot, far back and rained 1.5". Took 20 minutes and you could follow the gps track when they were done. Freakin coolest thing.

The oldest track he's been successful at is 48 hrs. It's really cool to see him work the nose and figure out the track. I know from personal experience, what he can find in 20 mins would take me more than an hour (if at all).

I've only been in DE for a few months, now. A job move moved me from the IL / WI area. There's definitely a size difference when it comes to the deer here.

Welcome and very cool tracking stories. I got a Lab this spring and have been laying tracks down for him since he was 8 weeks old. I take him inside and let my kids go hide in the woods but leave at the same starting point so I know where to put him on the track. He finds them every time. I hadn't shot a deer yet this year but been telling everyone I know, "If you shoot a deer call me. Even if you watch it run 20 yards and fall. " I can't wait to put him on the real thing.

The deer aren't too much smaller. I think MD is ranked #9 and DE #11 as far as "trophy" opportunity. My personal best from DE is 171".
