Cut 5ft of climb spec tubular webbing. Inserted a stiff rope for foot loop. Sewed the two ends to make a continuous loop. Larks headed on bottom of stick. Each stick now gets me 6ft to top step. Could go longer if I was taller or wanted to stretch. 3 sticks now get me where 4 use to. Thanks for the ideas from our great members.

Also added a bungee to one stick to wrap them all tight and secure for packing instead of that plastic buckle strap they came with.

I find putting the side of my boot against the tree directly in front of me, not to the side of the tree, and putting the strap in the middle of my foot gives a solid hold for stepping up. Seems to have less chance of kick out than putting my toe to the tree.

I did the same but recently switched to muddys with 3 and 2 step aiders. You can do a 2 step on the wolfs

I’m too short. That’s as high as I can put the LoneWolf step on the tree leaving no room for another aider between sticks.

For me, I am 6' tall (in my mind I am 7' tall and bullet proof, but for a different thread perhaps...)
I found making each step of your aider being the same distance between your stick's steps beneficial.

Every stick regardless of the manufacturer should have aiders attached!

Given that I have a mess of lone wolf's that I used for my preset stands, this is the way I'm initially leaning when I get my Kestrel. How do you carry the sticks up the tree? Do you hang them from your saddle or something similar. I have so many years of using presets, that every option seems like it's going to be a pain putting up and taking down when hunting. Just trying to get a game plan in my head, so I have something to start with.
Also, are you then stepping onto some kind of platform above your last stick, or utilizing the top stick as part of a platform?

I like the aider idea by the way. I made a two step on my bottom stick, and always carry it in/out with me to keep people out of my stands. Do you experience any problems finding the loop with your foot coming down?

Haven't done it on my Kestrel yet, but on my other saddles, I've tied a loop of paracord. About a 3-4in loop when stretched out. I just hang a stick on each side of me from a loop onto the versa button. So far all I've used with my Kestrel are the tree bolts. But I'm planning to hunt in some pines this weekend and tree bolts get nasty in pines.

I use ameristeps as my platform.

I just made these. They don't seem like they will be a problem. Before I had only one on the bottom step and instead of the rope inserted in the core, I had a piece of rubber flex conduit around the webbing. Never had problems getting my foot in.

Nothing a little light can't handle. I reach down and pull it away if need be. Most often no issue just slipping my foot in it
