Cold weather saddle hunting

@Erniepower, what boots do you wear with your fanatic bibs? I ran into this problem yesterday where I couldn't zip my bigs around my boots. I went a size up had tried everything on at home and it was plenty roomy to layer under but didn't even think to put my boots on when I tried it. Those are my baffin titans. I will have to try them with my bean pac boots and see if they fit over them.

Also does anyone have any suggestions on keeping your bulky layers out of the way when you draw your bow? I have a webbing strap with a buckle that I will wrap around and tighten to keep my left shoulder area pinched out of the way and I'm vigilant about making sure I have enough clearance. Just wanted to see if anyone has come up with something more clever.

Cut the foot off a sock and use as a compression sleeve. If still too bulky then get a multi section armguard to wear over that. Used this with my leafy wear and I worked great

Sorry I was specific enough. I’m actually referring to the left part of the chest and not the arm. Thanks though!

This year I have been using these boots. I still think I could go up one size to allow more air. The tops are pretty flexible so I am able to scrunch them before zipping

Thanks Ernie. I have XL too and we're about the same size so that's good. I'll have to experiment with them when I'm not standing at the bottom of the tree ready to go up.

Battery powered socks work like a charm. Turn em on after your in the stand

@Erniepower, I got home from work and put on all my cold weather gear for testing. LL bean pac boots with heavy merino wool socks. Sitka fanatic on top of (merino wool baselayer, scentlok early season layer for walk in) then patagonia nano lite pants and top). I was able to zip up over the bean pac boots so I should be good now. I threw the kestrel on and hit a tree and also found that after I hook up to my bridge, if I take the waist belt off, loosen it and re-buckle it below the bridge, it makes it much easier to use the muff on the fanatic jacket.

Good deal. I'll have to look next time to see where my waist belt is. I reach around my bridge to get my hands in the muff

What brand/model are you using?
I have the flambeau brand, got them off Amazon for around 60 bucks. They keep toes warm on long cold sits. Charge lasts about 6 hours. They only get used on really cold days. I usually manage with a pair of adhesive hot hands toe warmers put on at my stand.

That is how I do it too. But my waist belt lays across it the muff as is for me. So I just took it off and looped it under and it seemed to work well. We'll find out better this weekend.

That is great to hear! The battery powered stuff is finally coming around I think. I'm interested in battery powered because they adhesive ones work well but they're not cheap when you use so many.
Are these what you have?

Ive actually got some of those thermacell insoles...the heavy duty ones...expensive.

Ill get one of those point and click thermometers later this week and see if they actually do anything. Used them last year and so far this year and my feet don't get cold....but is it mind over matter?
my feet don't get cold, but they aren't in an oven either......we will see

Artic Shield boot covers.
I will wear regular gym socks and 400 gram Irish sitters hunting boot (hiking type). ... . Can't think of the true name. .... . After getting settled in the stand, I will slip these boot covers on before cooling down. Love these things.
North Mississippi dropped to 16 degrees last year and I pulled an all dayer with no cold feet.
