Quicklink noise

Getting a creaking noise from rope and quicklink when i transition from sit to lean. Anyone else experience\have a fix? Seems to be rope rubbing inside corner of quicklink

Yes. If your quicklink squeaks when you screw it down put a little Vaseline on the threads. For rope creaking I use a bees wax stick and just hit the area on the rope where it’s squeaking with a little wax. Wax is benign substance and I’m fairly certain that it won’t damage or break down the rope sheath. I haven’t had any issues with it.

Wax idea sounds good. I’ll have to try it. A little hockey tape works sometimes. I’ve had it on a tree so bad I had to stick a glove under the link.

Tape gets frayed real bad after a few climbs and falls off. It was so audible i was worried about getting picked off if something walked out.

You could also apply something similar to Johnson Paste Wax or a bowstring wax to the inside of the rope sheath where it has a friction point against your quick link.
