I know this is a long shot since this was posted in 2020, but i would like to know more about how you have the rappel rope setup....are you using that strap like a roll pouch and deploy the remaining when ready to get down?

Anyone have recommendations for a quiet stuff sack to store cold weather clothes in on the hike out? All the ones I seem to find are noisy nylon. Looking to lash it to a hang on so not looking for a standalone back pack. Thanks

Maybe this, or just get an actual pillow case and tie it shut

I’m really liking the pack set up JX3 has. I’ve basically forgone all other pack setups. It works with hybrid, pacseat, and my exo K3 frame. Very well.

I’ll keep the silent reaper, because it’s just an awesome piece of kit I can’t let go of.

Has anyone setup a Backwoods Mobile Gear Platform Pack? I’m looking get one then add their Hual All pouch and some other pouches on the face. I’d put everything I need in the pouches. I’ll also attach my one stick or sticks. They also have some compression straps to hold stuff tight.

Can anyone with a Badlands Superday pack comment about how a standard sized predator platform fits both it in and fits on the outside of it using the straps?

After spending three days going through this whole post a couple of times looking at pics and rereading observations I thought I had it figured out my initial pack. Then I go to camofire and see they are having a big MR sale. Almost makes it too hard to pass on a pop up even though I think it might be a little overkill for what I need.

So far digging the venture 1800. love the compression straps and the fact that you can move them around. carries weight very well once you tweak everything (belt, chest strap, shoulder straps, etc) The verde camo pattern is bad a** and bag feels very much high quality. strapped my sticks to it no problem. I will say that if you are a gear hog, you might want the 2300, especially you cold weather guys packing all kinds of layers, for me cold gear is usually just a hoody in S Louisiana. All in all very satisfied with it so far but time will tell and with the sale right now, you wont beat it for 99$

It compresses down to nothing. You won’t be disappointed.

Great pack but I really don’t need it unless I haul meat.

Let's see them post it up with pics. In these photos (Kuiu 1850 Pro). As of today I run the Kuiu Suspension with the Lone Wolf Custom Gear .5 shown in the last picture. I've eliminated the water bladder and the foam pad. This pack allowed me to pack out couple deers already. Very nice a versatile bag.

maybe I’m a whimp, but this is why I run the Stryker xl from kifaru. It’s made to haul. I stuff the stand and sticks in the haul webbing and buckle down. Stuff the bag and wrap it up in a neat tidy package. I can’t stand wearing my clothes in I sweat too much. Need to go in in my skivvies

Small and mighty with a hydration sleeve large enough for 2-3L of water and a waterproof exterior are all I really need in a backpack. I have a midsize F&S backpack that I used for 9 seasons, still like it but last year I switched to a cheaper Ozark Trail pack with a little less room but it forces me to bring only essentials and it’s really lightweight and water resistant. I would totally use the F&S if I was out of state or needed to bring extra ropes, gadgets, clothes for a new setup. Otherwise I really like my cheap Walmart solution.
Tried a Fanny packbut couldn’t dial it in the way I really liked for elevated hunting. For ground hunting or as a field dressing/scouting pack, it was great.

just hope he sends you what you ordered. He sent a piece in a color I didn’t order and after at least 10 attempts to contact through there website as well as forums no response. Gear may be nice but this guy has zero customer service. If your gonna run a good business you need both.
