Kestrel shipping

If I wear the Kestrel waist belt at normal belt level, I get some hip pinch. If I slide the waist belt on the Kestrel down several inches below my normal belt level then I can sit all day with no hip pinch. The only hunt I had any issues was when I wore a pair of fleece pants that had a cargo pocket with snaps located high enough on my leg it was under the saddle. The metal snaps created some pressure points and became painful.

Now, with that said I don't want to be the one to convince you to keep the size 1 and then you regret it. If I had to do it over I would probably order the size 2 just because from others reviews the linemans loops are farther forward and there doesn't seem to be a downside to going bigger. My guess is you will be fine in a size 1 but, whether you will be better in a size 2, I don't know.

Fair enough. Thanks! Getting an RA # and sending it back. I'll just walk the woods with a muzzleloader for second season or use the saddle I have. I appreciate the help.

Order 767...shipped today! Onrope, I'm in the Carlisle area, not sure where you are. Mines a size 2. If it set your mind at ease and your close, you could take a look before you sent yours back.

Order 906 should be arriving tomorrow, can’t wait to figure this out and maybe even get a late season hunt under my belt.

Mine came today, I'm super impressed with the quality of this saddle! Can't wait to start fooling around with it. Sure , I'll have a bunch of questions shortly.

This is my first post, but I would like to take a second and thank the folks at new tribe. Thank you! Debbie, I think was her name, she was very patient with me and very helpful. My Kestrel should be at my door today, and I can’t wait to use it. This is my first saddle and I am excited to learn this new hunting style. Great forum also! Get ready for the million questions guys!

Hey Gusarch, thanks for the generous offer. You're about 2.5 hours away and I have the Kestrel back in the mail. This forum seems to be full of decent people willing to help. I do appreciate it but I got to keep the indecision down. The train left the station and now I'm going to make the size 2 saddle work come hell or high water. Thanks again and good luck with yours!

I think you'll be good. I was thunkin it over last night, and I can't really see a downside. A size 2 just a tad big has to be better than a size 1 just a tad small. I don't think there is that much difference between the two that it would be unusable. I can't wait till I get mine. Supposed to be here by the 21rst. As long as I don't have any major issues, I hope to use it in the late season, still have a doe tag burning a hole in my wallet.

I too have a Kestrel ordered... It will be my first saddle and I'm very excited to give it a try! It's going to be a long off season until I'll get to put it to use... guess the good part is I'll get a lot of practice time to get it set up right.

I called yesterday mine due to get here on the 7th january

I seem to have been a little late to the game. Get into the the Saddle deal and like the idea of Ameristeps as a platform.... Not made anymore. Like the short muddy sticks with rope... Not made anymore. Geez

Muddy just stopped them so you may be able to still find a set if you search around. Ameristeps haven't been made for 10 years so you're not alone in that search. They pop up more often than you'd think so if you start searching now you can definitely find a set before next season. They go for up to $20 a step FYI.
