Should work Better than a dump pouch

Yeah. I ordered two of the entrenching tool pouches like in the original post but also ordered two of the canteen pouches shown above. I think @Ontariofarmer asked about the canteen pouches. I plan on using one of each on my kestrel and sit drag.

Nice.

Those entrenchment pouches are two layers of fabric.
I removed the buckles and strap; cut a small slice through the inside layers (flap and pouch) and put a nickel sized neodymium magnets and stitched them in. It gets rid of the "click" and those magnets are powerful!!! Having the magnets sandwiched between the double layer is very silent and secure. Also a clean profile so there isn't much hardware to snag on or make noise.
Very saddle worthy IMO.....

Pouches came in yesterday,
They will hold the tree rope and linesman in one pouch .
Someone asked about Ameristeps on strap and they Don’t fit
In this style pouch.
Now to figure out on quieting the clip.

Thanks. You answered my questions about these. Wish it would hold my ameristeps on a strap. What are you guys using to pack them with then? I’ve got a janky pouch for now but would like something else

There are a lot of other pouches that are bigger than this one. You might try one of the water bottle pouches. I just ordered 2 for $16. They are somewhat larger than the entrenchment tool pouches.

Thanks! I’ll look into it. How do these pouches attach?

I added these last night. I'm really impressed. These are perfect and fit the saddle well. I have no issues with the buckles. They are only noisy if you are careless and they aren't going to open unless I want them open.

Which ones did you go with?

Yup. I got the entrenchment tool pouches. Looking at them I think there is no way the tether or linemans belt is going to fit in there, but they each go in their own pouch with room to spare.
The only thing I wish they had are Molly loops on the outside of the pouches for some incidental apparatus. There are still some loops on the Kestrel but the pouches cover a lot of them and by the time I get my bow hoist on there, well, you can never have too many.

That sounds like a good idea! Maybe sew (sorry I mean inject thread) into some webbing and create your own molle system on the pouch?

If I find myself short of Molly loops I'll do that.
