All these pack companies making it hard not to just go mystery ranch route. Not saying they’re the best but for what u get. Their hard to beat
Funny you mentioned this I Emailed Beau Martonic he’s hearing great things about the MR Popup 40 for a day hunting whitetail hauler that is reasonably priced and rated for 80lbs.

I bailed on both my pop up 28, the quality of the packs were excellent but they were the loudest packs ive owned and to much space between the frame and pack the straps would bottom out

I’ve been using the the pop up 18 this season and have really liked it so far. It’s great for ground hunting. I’ve got a short Turkey stool and folds up and sits in the meat shelf.

I’ve not had any issues with hauling. I packed an entire gutted doe it with it recently.

I’ll agree with 207bowhunter though, the material is pretty loud and I wish the straps would get tighter when the shelf was empty.

So I ended up returning this. And now I regret it, so I reordered. I also got some other goodies to spice it up a bit. After messing with the K4 5000 and determining what I need I really think the bird bag will be the ticket moving forward.
@AttackMode can you show your load out with the MG Bird Bag? I have one, bought it for upland, turkey and predator hunting and was going to try it for early season whitetail but my One Sticks are too tall for it and they don’t fit sideways. Would like to see how you’re using it and how you’re hauling with it. In fairness I didn’t spend much time with it either as I was rushing to put something together when this wasn’t working how I had originally hoped.

So I carry my platform, saddle, kneepads, rattling antlers up top. Down below is camera, cam arm, bino harness/grunt call, clothes, ropes/saddle bag. Other goodies go in the pockets/lid. It pulls off the frame so can still pack some meat..in theory anyway, haven't done that yet. I had 45 lbs in this hiking the mtn last week and it felt great. The profile is nice too. I can move through the mtn with ease. I also love the ability to put stuff in the bottom bag in an instant. It's great for getting rid of rattling antlers quickly. I'm really liking it so far and I have some more pouches coming for the sides of the bottom bag. Just for a little more organization. I also have some compression straps to use on the pals if I needed them for more gear.

Top bag is large bird bag from MG. It was on sale so I figured I'd give it a shot with the upland bird bag and see if I could use them both and have room too. It works out pretty well on the frame.
