Questions about saddles and longer traditional bows

I’ve never really had a tether length problem and I hunt some pretty big trees. I always moved to my right to shoot the weak side (right handed) I didn’t try to go the whole way around the tree. My pack would sometimes get in the way which is one of the reasons I went to a platform. I turn and...

    2024 Off-Season Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

I was surveying some property my company owns this afternoon. It’s typical steep and rocky WV mountains. I quickly realized it’s time to cut back on the lifting a little and start working in some more cardio. Lungs were burning long before they should have been.

    2024 Turkey Thread

No, my dad was hunting with me. We were hunting out of a blind since I was planning on using my bow. He brought his shotgun on the hopes we could double up. This bird appeared out of nowhere and was walking fast right to left across the log landing in front of the blind. It was out of bow...

    2024 Turkey Thread

I really wanted to kill one with the recurve this morning but, after watching one Tom strut 70 yds out for over an hour which already had me late for work I had to pick the shotgun up when this second Tom walked by at 35 yds.

Questions about saddles and longer traditional bows

There is no weak side with a ROS. :)

Questions about saddles and longer traditional bows

I hunted from a ROS for several years. I lean forward and far enough away from the tree that it has never been a problem.

Questions about saddles and longer traditional bows

I have never shot a 68" bow from a saddle. Most of my recurves are 62" the longest I have shot is 64" but, I don't think you will have any problems with a 68" bow. I run my tether a little higher then Jerry recommended, about forehead height usually but some setups require it a little higher...

Jokes and Memes - NO POLITICS

Eagles Flight Archery is by far my favorite trad bow quiver. I have no comment on whatever your internet search turned up......

    2024 Gear thread

I’m pretty sure a guy who shoots wooden bows and wooden arrows isn’t allowed to harass a guy over technology choices.

    Your 2024 Elk Hunt

Before you drop $100 on OnX, I would look hard at GoHunt. It's $150 but like said above you can get codes for $50 back in the gear shop. The research function is amazing if you are trying to narrow down States and or units within a State.

    Your 2024 Elk Hunt

I went down this rabbit hole last year. I don't remember all of the details but, I ended up getting the Garmin InReach Messenger. How companies structure the monthly plans can end up being the biggest cost. The Zoleo is a little cheaper and I think is what @BTaylor uses. I misunderstood their...

    Trad Bow rack

No, that could be a future issue though. I hang my bows from nails in my cabin when hunting and wrapped them in electrical tape for that reason. Maybe a couple wraps of clear packing tape would help and not be visible.

    Traditional Bow Wall Hangers

I haven’t seen many with antlers. There’s a few ideas for various racks in this thread. You might be able to come up with a way to incorporate antlers in one of these. Thread 'Trad Bow rack' https://saddlehunter.com/community/index.php?threads/trad-bow-rack.51152/
