    Going to try it again

I've never had the small seat on the .5 but had the Retrograde and Windwalker with smaller seats than the large seat on the .5. I wanted to stay away from the small seats as much as possible. I proportionally have short legs and a long torso so I'm not 100% sure how much of a difference it would...

    Going to try it again

That's what they call a "hybrid" set up. It can be the best of both worlds for some.

    Going to try it again

I wanted to save a few bucks and use the Retrograde vs the .5 and I wish I would've just bought the .5 to begin with. I used an old Windwalker to get my feet wet back into the stand/hybrid set up. The Retrograde killed my back as well. I think I have some issues with my sciatic nerve and the...

    Whose got a motorcycle?

I have 3 bikes I ride and insure '03 Harley Dyna is $220/yr, '22 Kawasaki KLR is $237/yr and a '86 Harley FXR is $220/yr. I don't carry full coverage on any. State Farm with multi vehicle discount. Edit: After reviewing the policy, I misspoke and I guess those rates are what most would consider...

    Finger tab mod

The only issue I can see is that shock cord seems to dry rot and give out unexpectedly. I guess most of us have some back up paracord or something that would work if the shock cord broke. I guess the sleeve on the shock cord usually stays intact too when the rubber core breaks.

    GM 2 - Loud

I haven't specifically shot the Hoyt but in addition to playing around with brace height, maybe some stick on vibration dampeners, limb dampeners (between limb and string), add some arrow weight with some screw in adapters and maybe use a vibration reducing stabilizer. It'll probably sound silly...

    SEBDR

Looks like fun! I wish my schedule was a little more predictable. I have to take trips spur of the moment when time allows it seems. On another note, if you're looking for new tire(s)soon (I remember an old post you were looking) I have some real world experience with the Motoz Tractionator GPS...

    NuCanoe Flint Thoughts

Keep a lookout this time of year on your local buy/sell pages and you might find something that'll fit the bill. I picked up a nice sit on top kayak a few years back I still use and the guy said he took it out 3 times, it was basically brand new at 1/3 of the price.

Favorite string material for flemish twist

I think all the cool kids are using fast flight/d97 or a variant of dyneema. I still have enough b55 for a lifetime probably so that's what I'm using. I've made them 10, 12 and 14 strand based on nock fit with the serving thread I have (also have enough to probably last a lifetime).

Mystery Ranch Fire Bags - An Ideal Lumbar Pack? Just me?

I hauled one around for 4 years and they're great for what they are. I bought a pop-up 28 just because of the quality of my fire pack. Either quality has gone down across all the packs or my fire pack was made a lot better. The zippers on my fire pack were heavier, material was heavier and I...

    Yum

Deer liver and onions is good just follow a normal beef liver and onions recipe. We'll usually soak the liver in buttermilk overnight regardless of the recipe. I make what they call pâté too. I didn't know what it was called I guess until I looked up a recipe similar to the one we use at home...

Switching to indoor soft boot once in tree, what say you?

Felt boot liners used as an outer layer are an option that I like. It took me years to realize and finally let go of my stubbornness that lack of insulation wasn't my issue for cold feet, it was my feet sweating. A nice wool sock and felt liners over the top will really keep your feet toasty...

    Where to start

Since you're mentioning it, you're probably a bit curious about adding a sight. You can always buy one drilled for a sight and leave the sight off. If the riser is big enough, you could always drill and add inserts capable of attaching a sight later too. A simple taped on match stick can work as...

    Where to start

I'd say just start shooting with what ya have and have fun. I used to line up walnuts that fell off our tree on a log for practice. Grab your bow when your headed to the woods to shed hunt or scout or whatever and shoot on the way. I got more accurate when I started bowfishing. I'd take snap...

    A "finished" first set up

You can eliminate the stick and climb with the platform just like one sticking if you're comfortable doing that and your aider is easy enough to attach.
