    Predator calling in saddle?

I like how you set up, usually I am setting up near small canyons or thicker timber with creeks and have tried to have the wind cross to me and point my caller 45 degrees down wind and away from me. but there are locations I will try what you are saying

Scent control regiment and FACTS about activated carbon

I've used the unscented wipes too and they help, I've ALWAYS played the wind and it works but I have one location where I want to hike in with a saddle and sit for the day elk hunting and the wind is almost never right in the morning there and was hoping that in the saddle and perhaps better...

    Predator calling in saddle?

normally I spend about 30 minutes in a spot, usually I've had them come in under 15minutes for coyotes, never called a cat in but have see several bobcats and a few cougar. I was thinking by that with the DRT saddle style perhaps setup time wouldn't be all that bad. I am going to give...

    Predator calling in saddle?

Did you set up any differently in the saddle than you would on the ground? seems like you could set the caller closer to you but on the ground.

    Predator calling in saddle?

anyone have success in calling coyotes or bobcats while in the saddle? I think this could be a good combination; fox pro and saddle.??

Scent control regiment and FACTS about activated carbon

Does anyone have a regiment they use for extended hike in hunts? most of what I am reading is great if you walk in a mile or so far a day or part of a day. but what about hiking in with a tent and gear then hunting?

    Shooting in the saddle

I bow hunt for elk and rifle for deer in Washington state I was thinking 40 for bow and likely 200 for rifle although I do long range shooting out to 750 (as far as my range finder goes) but don't like the idea of trying that far in a tree. Do you adjust your sights for bow hunting...

    Shooting in the saddle

Straight down does sound difficult, if you have your top pin at 20 yards how would you aim?

    Shooting in the saddle

can you please expand on why it has decreased? is it just because you have shorter shooting lanes or because the deer come closer when in the saddle? or whatever other reasons? Thanks

    Shooting in the saddle

this sounds reasonable to me, I am going to try and shorten my shot distance a bit for elk to 40 yards and I think selecting a good tree off one of the trails will help

    Shooting in the saddle

I was thinking my longest shot would be 40 yards from the saddle, when ground hunting I've taken various animals out to 70 yards. I am confident in my shooting but was thinking saddle hunting may provide closer shot opportunities. I am will definitely be trying this out in the summer months.

    Ghillie suits

I,ve never used one but that sure seems it would make you blend in way better, could be helpful in high pressure areas also to keep other hunters from coming over to talk(nothing kills a good deer hunt like another hunter walking up to you)
