2TC and 1 stick: best upper tether setup for smooth advance?

I hunted the deep south for years, where straight and tall trees were the norm. I always imagined a telescopic pole to advance my tether really high (like 4 times what a trekking pole can do) would help someone fly up a tree quietly. I now live in central TN where I finally have the chance to...

    Boots…

Big fan of LaCrosse Granger boots here in Florida swamps. 100% chance of walkinh through water where I hunt - but you can get 3/4 length hard insoles to make standing less irritating on your hooves. I bet you could diy something for all day sits in a tree but havent done so myself (yet). Sent...

    Trad Bow Rest?

There are olympians that still use a Hoyt super rest which costs about $2.50 brand new - a Bear Weatherrest is a tougher version of this in my eyes. I have bows with these on them but I cut the side plate flange and drilled a hole to accept a 5/16 stainless bolt through the berger hole to...

Florida saddle hunter meet up continued:

This would be really cool if it happens. I voted for March date, but I still have to be sure of my schedule before I can actually commit because I travel a bunch for work. FWIW, I will be out of the country during the dates listed in Jan and Feb. *Those of you who really want others to come...

    I’ve been told…

This is a fun thread and I think the OP asked a question lots of folks have asked themselves, some like me have asked it repeatedly over time. I personally believe it boils down to what you are trying to achieve through archery. If you were a serious/semi-serious archer who likes to punch paper...

Dumb question - cutting arrows - using disc in miter saw?

I have used a dremel with a cut off wheel to cut carbon arrow shafts with good results but I was NOT in a hurry. If you wrap the area with a couple wraps of masking tape, then mark the tape for the length and wrap a different colored masking tape to denote your cut line it is doable. Key is...

Not true, I can shoot both equally bad.

    Point on troubleshooting

I shoot 3 under. Here are two pictures of what I am talking about. One is of a Bear WARF(ed) riser, the other is a SF riser. The bottom mark is my sight gap reference for 20 yards, the top two marks are part of a rangefinder system. (look up Dead On Rangefinder, it is the exact same concept...

    Point on troubleshooting

Your call and I wish you all the best luck in the world, but just to clarify - a sight mark on your riser is just a point of reference because you focus will still be on the target you want to hit. Truth be told, it is the same as gap shooting which you said you had some success with in your...

    Point on troubleshooting

I would love to have an 8-10" gap at hunting ranges. Mine is usually closer to 20-22" with my set ups. I recommend that you just keep hammering that target and don't change a thing until you start bust'n nocks on your arrows at your hunting ranges. (BTW, when your set up is right and you start...

    Point on troubleshooting

If you are shooting a short bow and don't want to crawl down the string, you could also put a marker on your bow's riser to depict your 20-25 yard gap. Thin strips of tape are great and non permanent. This won't decrease your gap (your goal) but after shooting with this primitive sight...

    Clicker alternative?

Wait a minute, you are inferring that I could lose all control of my shot execution and shoot an arrow over my target... Hahaha, yup. That was me!

    Clicker alternative?

I don't think it is a literal bubble, but the way I understood it, you simply capture some air on the roof of your mouth. Apply pressure until it 'pops' (my description) rearward to the opening of your throat.

    Clicker alternative?

Hahaha My only advice is simply to be close to your target with a BIG backstop if you try this with an arrow nocked! The concept was great and he (like he always does) explained it extremely well - but I have a simple brain and having not shot in quite some time I wasn't ready for everything...
