Has anyone seen any good strap on platforms yet?

The video on page 15 shows the slider in use. You still use a friction hitch but the slider allows you to adjust it with one hand.

I really like the shizl rope sliders on my lanyard. Makes it very easy to tend slack on my lanyard with one hand. Also, it's lighter and less bulky compared to a micro pulley or rope grab.

    Climbing rope for tree access

It seems the only draw back I am hearing about climbing with rope, is trying to get rope in a tree on the fly that hasn't been preset with a throw line. How about using a pair of tree spikes, or is that getting to be too much gear to carry? I used the tree strap, and the three small hitch cords...

I didn't think my 11.7 mm Poison Ivy was going to work with the rig but it seems to fit in the casing OK. My 4 year old daughter's valentine's gift came in today. I got her a New Tribe Twist Harness for kids. I plan to use the Rig as a belay device to hoist her up into the tree until I can...

WD, once you are in the tree do you have any other connection point aside from the Rig. And do you use another connection point while climbing. I was thinking about using a back up connection to the hand ascender while climbing and maybe a VT hitch above the Rig while sitting, just in case the...

Glad they got you fixed up. My concern is, my left leg is the shorter of the two so I assume that was my bad hip (can't remember), however the one that gives me trouble and pain now is my right hip. Guess I need to have them both checked out. I apologize to the original poster for hijacking your...

    Climbing rope for tree access

That sucks. I was 5th thru 7th and they told me I was older than most with the disease. They tried crutches for six months with no progress, so they put me in the brace. If that didn't work they were going to have to try surgery. I'm 40 and this past year has given me a few bad weeks. I don't...

Hello from Jacksonville, NC. I spend most of my time on the water after trout and redfish. Deer season is a break from pouring money in the boat's gas tank.

How did you find the site?

I was reading one of the Eberhart books which lead me to google saddle hunting. Then I saw this site referenced again on the AT aero hunter thread. And lastly, I got the card when my Evolution package arrived. Guess you guys are sitting at the cool kids table.

    Climbing rope for tree access

Hello all. I recently got an evolution with the intention of using a rope to climb. I've been learning a lot from you guys and wanted to say thanks for all the info. I had purchased some 11.7 mm Poison Ivy rope which I think is beyond the max rope diameter for the RIG. Is there another rig that...
