its an api I have one that is real similar. I wouldn't mess with it. They are not very comfortable and don't lock to the tree very well.
I had the same thing happen to me with a ladder stand. So glad I don't haul those around the woods anymoreThat looks just like an API stand that someone stole from me about 23 years ago (in southern MN). That was the best thing that happened to me as I started saddle hunting after that and no longer had to hunt out of that loud thing.
Not a bad idea. The platform has some spots that are wore through but they might not be structurally damaging. I do have plenty of time to mess around with it before season wouldn't be out anything other than dirty looks from the wife for the "trash" I'm keeping in the garageI have basically that same standing hanging in a tree right now. I'll take a different opinion to others. Assuming the rivets are in good shape and the base of the stand is sound, I would use it. The cables look fine and aluminum doesn't rust. However, I wouldn't use it as a treestand. I'd take all of the old seat material off and zip tie the bracket straight up and out of the way. Then add two ratchet straps to the post and you've got a great preset saddle platform. Put it on public land if you want and don't worry if someone steals it (You'd only be out $5 of ratchet straps).
I unfortunately sat in one those stands years ago, and it was probably the most uncomfortable time ever in a stand.Went out and did some scouting today and saw this bad boy hanging in the tree. Went home and got a hacksaw and cut it out of the tree. It'd been there for a while as I had to cut the chain off and cut the top bar out of the tree. I already removed what was left of the carpet and seatView attachment 100192View attachment 100193
I have 3 of those with the expanded metal decking in the shed from years ago. They are lightweight especially if doing the amsteel mode and a little sketchy if not set properly.Went out and did some scouting today and saw this bad boy hanging in the tree. Scrap it.I found a treestand and I've never seen one like it. It looks to have sat outside for sometime. Just curious as to the model and if it's worth fixing or just scrap itView attachment 99962
It's in the recycling can as we speak. Thought about using it as a preset but common sense got the better of me and I tossed itScrap it.
