Do you still have the strap connected to the foot loop that is for securing your foot in? I pulled that completely out and it helped with that. Also, mine sort of flared open on one side and I make sure that side is facing me.
Yes I do , have it on I will try that I hope I can get this dialed in

I found for me it made it a little easier. I am also able to grab the main strap while I am sitting and kind of hold the foot loop where I can get my foot in easier. There is a little fiddling still bit not as much. The loop that @GeoFish has would be perfect. For me, I don’t care that it would be a little less packable. I don’t know if @always89y would be willing to do anymore like that?

I did a couple more climbs again today and then I tried the one stick again. I am pretty sure the one stick stuff will end up in the classifieds. Maybe it is because I started out with the 2TC and switched but I find it much easier to 2TC. Seems backwards to most people’s experience so I have been surprised.

I still haven't got out to try mine. Life has been too busy and the weather has not been cooperative. I'm sure I'll like it, but probably won't give up my one stick. I'll keep it as another tool in the arsenal, just like my climber, my other sticks and EDP platform, and eventually a hang on. Just haven't decided on retrograde or cold world from XOP yet. Or maybe a .5 if I feel spendy.

I KNOW this was discussed in this thread already but I can't find the answers...

You very experienced 2TC climbers, what do you do with wet or slick trees? Seems to me like a slippery trunk precludes a climbing method where friction and stability are absolutely necessary. (It creeps me out to climb an icy tree with a climbing stick, but I can do it. I don't see how I could 2TC on an icy tree.) Is dry weather a requirement for 2TC or what are your tips to mitigate a wet tree?

What we need is someone to make something like the front half of a croc into a foot loop or boot attachment and add golf spikes to the front of the toe area.

They already make studded ice crampons and I have had the thought to get some and remove the back studs and only leave a few toward the toes. I just don’t know if the juice would be worth the squeeze.

Not a bad idea. Crampons are cheap and lightweight. unless the concept flat out doesn’t work I don’t see that the squeeze would hurt

Something like this but where the spikes are on the tip or front of the boot not under it. Maybe have a row just under the toes.
