I can't imagine the guys at beast gear seeing his name on the order form for the 28th time for beast sticks and the 32nd time for the stand

    2024 Turkey Thread

Walked my butt off since 1 o'clock. Soaked with sweat. I found 3 different birds so far. Plenty of plans to go through Tomorrow

Covered 7 miles. Not single gobble. Walked up upon a Jake that I let go. Going for a Starbucks and lunch. Then spending the entire afternoon scouting

Went to the same spot I was yesterday where I heard no less than 5 birds at first light. Beautiful cool morning. Haven't heard a stinkin gobble yet. Time to get walking

    OnX ads complaint/rant

I can't stand how poor the performance is on android. Have the latest and greatest 24 Ultra and it runs like a turtle

    2024 Turkey Thread

What a day. As I went to go to those birds roosted, someone beat me to the punch. I could hear them gobbling like crazy but also heard the very distinct sound of awful sounding owl hooting. Nothing agitates me like someone working the same bird as me so I backed off and went the other way. I...

    2024 Turkey Thread

To say my blood is boiling doesn't begin to adequately describe it. Seething with rage. I went out this morning to listen and owl hoot to get a bead on some birds for opening day tomorrow. This is the area I saw all those gobblers 3 weeks ago. Didn't hear a peep. I walked all along the ridges...

    Less than 4 months

Next 5 months are miserably depressing. I loathe and detest warm weather, bugs, 120° manufacturing floor for 12 hours. Can't come soon enough

I lost an Iron Will on a bear last year somehow on a straight down shot. My scream at the thought of it gone was exactly like this

Yep I also love 3 blades. My bishops have a mirror finish These also mess people up sometimes because of the perceived sharpness. You will never ever shave hair on that blunt 60° angle. Not gunna happen. The best way to tell if you're ready to go is a simple nail test. If the blade...

Speed scouting vs scouting thoroughly on new pieces? How to be more efficient?

Hemlocks are usually much more defined like these.

Speed scouting vs scouting thoroughly on new pieces? How to be more efficient?

To me, if an area is totally homogeneous id strike the whole enchilada off my list. I only hunt two habitats anymore, swamps and mountains. Any big tracks of woods with swamps I go right to the water and dense cover. Mountains I look for the green mtn laurel that pops out in Onx and thick...

    2024 Gear thread

Cannot articulate how much I don't like staysharp. Ron has some helpful guides on achieving sharpness but his guides suck. The blade edge has to be positioned perfectly parallel to the roller guide, which is a non issue on the KME. Then on alot of his models you need to use tape on the rollers...

This is how it's done. Obviously the jig, along with the high angle spacer. You need the delta jaws if you don't want to take the blade off from the ferrule. I would strongly recommend the Sharpal dual sided diamond stone. Sandpaper doesn't cut it with steel this hard. It can work, but you'll...

    2024 Gear thread

Id recommend just buying 3 and then buy extra blades. You can goob up 1 blade practicing, use the goobed head to sight in, then pop in a fresh blade and go hunting.
