    Rescue Knife

I've been using a folding knife with thumb stud for one-handed opening and has a pocket clip for attachment to my chest pocket. Thankfully, have never had to deploy it. The special purpose hook blade knives mentioned above definitely look like a better option.

Scaffold knot and Delta Link question ?

I've been thinking of picking up a delta link for the top end of my tether but the possibility of the screwgate jamming caused me to second guess the idea. I certainly don't want to have to pack a wrench with me.

    Pac Seat Review

I picked one up at the new price, $275 shipped, and was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived a week later. As to whether it's worth it, I'll be in a better position to comment at the end of the season. In the meantime, I plan on adding some vet tape to the lower legs which might come in...

Bullman Silent Approach ROS Platform & Apex Steps

I don't think you will be satisfied with this arrangement. First of all, it will place your steps above the level of your platform and, second, they probably won't be as tight to the tree as you might like. I'd go with a separate ratchet strap for best stability. Once you have your platform...

Saddle Death… Stay safe out there.

It's almost impossible to tell exactly what caused this tragic accident, whether it was equipment, technique, or some combination thereof. Suffice to say that we are engaging in a dangerous activity anytime we leave the ground. Back when I taught hunter safety courses, the guiding rule for...

My Lone Wolf platform just broke off…. I heard this has happened before.

A little JBWeld and you'll be back in the game! j/k Seriously, it's time to invest in a new platform.

    Predator owners

I'm using the standard bracket that was installed when I bought it and just follow Greg's advice in the video. Once cammed into place, it's solid as a rock. In fact, I was a little puzzled as to why the optional bracket was included.

    Aluminum squirrel steps….. painting?

I got some vet wrap that I'll try first since it looks fairly simple to apply and easily remove if it doesn't work out. Any advice on best way to apply it?

    Bullman Pioneer steps

I placed my order late in the day on Saturday, 8/21, order shipped 8/24, and received 8/27. Pretty fast service I'd say. These steps are very nice so I'm real pleased with my purchase.

    Bullman Pioneer steps

Okay, so I read the instructions as bigcat suggested and found out that I had unintentionally done something correctly for a change! Upon closer inspection of the remainder of the dozen steps I received, I was pleased to find that most had already been lightly filed at the upper end of the...

    Bullman Pioneer steps

I just received a set of the Pioneer steps and they do have some sharp edges as previously described by others. I'm only going to concern myself with the slot for the strap. I have a set of needle files and have used the round and rectangular files to easily dress up the inside edges of the...
