    Shouldn’t this rope be fine??

I think it depends on how stretchy it is. Regular paracord is stretchy. I know this is stronger , hopefully it works out for you.

What am I looking for in a tether rope?

6 or 7 mm cord should work. You can tie your own or there are premade prussics. REI, Backcountry, Eastern Mntn Sports , R&W rope all sell suitable prussics .

What am I looking for in a tether rope?

I wouldn't use amsteel for a tether. It's slippery & prussic may not catch on it well. I'm using Sterling htp 9mm.

AmSteel for a Line man's Belt and Thether??

It doesn't "flip" well because it's lightweight, the braided line doesn't play well with tree bark, it can fray.

Knaider/Swaider...... keeping them on your foot?

I stitched in a small "gap' between the bar-tack to allow a piece of shockcord. It keeps cord in place on the webbing. Then just slip cord over boot & put loop over foot . Works great.

Carabiner at top of tether rope

Carabiner at top of tether rope

I wouldn't do it this way . As was said before crossloading the carabiner isn't good.
