    layering up while sitting

I add layers every hunt. With my kestrel the first thing I do after I get my tether hooked up is loosen my waste belt the whole way. Then I stand up a little on my pegs and let the saddle slide way down below my belt. This is the most comfortable way for me to sit in the saddle. If I need to...

Is there a backpack out that makes carrying sticks easier

Thanks, I’m gonna try that. I wonder if I can cut off the sides and just have the bottom middle and top.

Is there a backpack out that makes carrying sticks easier

The two frames you mentioned look awesome. Just too expensive to use on the back forty. I gotta keep looking.

Is there a backpack out that makes carrying sticks easier

I came across this yesterday in my research. It’s kind of what I’ve been thinking about. I’ve been looking for a frame like this I could customize. Anyone seen one like this?

Is there a backpack out that makes carrying sticks easier

I use this cabelas pack for winter and my layered clothing that I pack in the bow/rifle support holds the weight of the sticks. Also I use this for my all day hunts most of the time. It’s just way to heavy and bulky for October.

Is there a backpack out that makes carrying sticks easier

I was looking at that pack. It’s light but when you put that on does it pull on your shoulders a lot with no bow/rifle pouch to hold up weight? Also with no waste belt to take the weight of the shoulders. Thanks for posting!

Is there a backpack out that makes carrying sticks easier

I have been looking for a backpack for the last week every chance I get. I need a small pack for early season that will primarily carry 3 cut down helium sticks. A lot of my hunts before the rut will be 15 minute walks. I’ll be hot on the way in and will put a second layer on towards dusk. I...

    Hip pinching

Did you try loosening the waist belt and sliding the Kestrel down on your butt more. After I’m strapped in it’s the first thing I do. Much more comfortable!

    F&Scyclone (Helium)rope modification

While I'm patiently waiting for my Kestrel I have been researching between sticks and tree steps. I almost purchased the Muddy pro sticks when I remembered I had some sticks I bought years ago in the woods. I thought they were low quality but after retrieving them they seem nice. In fact...

    HHA One Pin sight

I feel what joshryther said is a must. The single pin screwed me on my biggest deer ever because I never thought to practice when you pull back on a deer at 40 and he runs into 20 what to do. I would love to use a single pin if I hunted field edges all the time but if your slipping tight to...
