Still debating if this is for me

That sums up my first kestrel season. It's more versatile than a climber, but feels like I'm carrying twice as much crap into the woods. I've always heard "a comfortable hunter is a deadly hunter". But I'm never as comfortable in the kestrel. Find myself moving around a lot more often. Going to...

How did you hear about saddlehunter??

I heard about the site through one of the DIY Sportsman (bowhunter15) YouTube videos. Back in college my roommate had a trophyline saddle. Always wanted to try it out, but didnt know where to start until I found saddlehunter.

    Rope climbing systems

That thread is a great read, but I can't bring myself to buy all the gear for SRT. I picked up some 16 strand Arbormaster to play around with using a Blakes hitch system. It definitely has potential, but I'd prolly only use it on trees pre-set like Redsquirrel mentioned. Takes me too long to get...

    Lineman and tether lengths

I made both of mine 10' before knots. They've both worked well for me, the tether could probably be a little shorter. Depends on the size of tree you plan on climbing. I've only tried it on trees around 12-15" diameter.

Might have found my Fall 2017 buck

For sure. Even if it's not the same deer (which is very possible), it's a shame to find him like this.

Might have found my Fall 2017 buck

Failed to recover a deer for the first time last bow season. I shot a buck twice from the stand, once at around 25 yds, then he stopped again at 40. I think the first shot just grazed the brisket, didn't see much blood there. The 40yd shot was better. Had a lot of blood, and I made a rookie...

So I have been looking for brackets

I ordered a few to try as well. The seller is probably wondering why people buying corner braces are also in the market for ozone generators and camo suspenders :tearsofjoy:

    Found some beds...

This one was in some thicker cover. Still on a high point, overlooking open woods

    Found some beds...

I've been doing the same thing the last few weekends. Just recently discovered Hunting Beast, using some of Dan's techniques this season will be a game changer Most that I found were just like what you described. This one was on a small ridge, overlooking an open marsh area. Lots of rubs...
