    "IF" I would have...……...

Just replace it with what you had while you research an upgrade. The older trophylines are not that hard to find on the used market. Guarantee you will end up with multiple saddles anyway....no use fighting it. It's a damn sickness I tell you!

    Leg cramps

I think it has more to do with your platform than the actual saddle cutting off circulation. Us leaners put a lot of pressure on the arches of our feet while leaning on the edges of our platforms. This takes a while to get used to....just a hunch. I Just curious, are your cramps in the...

    Help

Good point (literally) I do have the field tips that are flat on the end but I don't know what the technical name for them are? Just look like a cut off point. My issue is forgetting them rather than actually losing them!

    Help

This exactly. Which is why I mentioned what you choose to stand on making a big difference for me. Even my oxymoronic short longbows are a pain to pass over the bridge. Additionally, I carry one field tipped arrow and shoot it at a leaf, stump, etc, right before I come down for real world...

    Help

There is a learning curve to saddle hunting. However, once you have mastered that, the added difficulty of traditional equipment in the saddle has more to do with the type of bow (mostly length), individual shooting style (straight up or cant), than it does with the saddle itself. What you...

5.5lb climbing, platforming, & descending package - Solo Scout

Good point boyne and I should have pointed out for clarification that it wasn't a comfort issue for me, the EVO is plenty comfortable. I pack my saddle in often and seem to be comfortable in nearly any saddle, so the EVO was just more saddle than I need to get the job done.

5.5lb climbing, platforming, & descending package - Solo Scout

Hahaha believe it or not, I have actually beheld the Evo's glory personally! ........and promptly sold it after receiving the Kestrel. It was definitely a nice saddle, with adjustment out the wazoo for those who require it. Just too much going on for me. I'm just thrilled that we have...

5.5lb climbing, platforming, & descending package - Solo Scout

Nice job man but your saddle shouldn't outweigh your climbing method, pack and platform combined! Keeping it real....jetpack probably lighter than that Evo... :tearsofjoy:

Pack/Wrap with shoulder strap for sticks

I'll bet it was the Papoose. Since he only mentioned sticks and not a bow carrier. Forgot about that one....good call Shamus! Not much like it out there.

Pack/Wrap with shoulder strap for sticks

Do a search for Bow Bat. If that's the one that you are referring to, it was made by game plan gear at one point and then went out of production. I believe that XOP treestands brought out a similar version though that is still available I see the same name.

glow in the dark paint: most durable, bright, and long lasting brand?

If you go this route, get the ones with comfort channels....just for added traction.

    Arrow recommendations for #40 recurve

If it's cut past center and you have a raised and adjustable rest, you can basically tune any darn arrow that you want to shoot. However, I just noticed that you will need a fairly long arrow due to your 29" draw length. This will put the 600 spines out of the question so as mentioned above it...

Light Colors vs Dark Colors, An Observation...

Yes sir. I'd rather wear snow camo than most of the real tree or mossy oak patterns that have ever been made! Predator, ASAT, the old skyline apparition, natural gear and cabelas outfitter are a few of my favorites.

    Arrow recommendations for #40 recurve

Do you know if your bow is cut to center or past center? I have tuned both 500 and 600 spined carbons to 40# bows in the past but the amount of weight required out front to get the 500's to tune was more than I was comfortable with. Personally, I would not even mess with 400's.

    Fancy new phrase

Almost exactly the same contents as mine except I have a pelvic saw and webbing deer drag as well.

New from Indianapolis. Would provide photography in exchange for mentoring.

Welcome from NW Indiana. It sounds like you're familiar with some of the Indiana DNRs programs so I encourage you to check into a workshop called Deer Hunting 101. They do require preregistration and I'm told they fill up quickly but it sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

What’s everyone taking to the woods this year?

This is a fact! I have shot quite a few hybrid longbows over the years and still own a pile of them. Centaurs are the cream of the crop IMO. I currently have a Chimera very similar to your specs. 56" Dark cocobolo, myrtle veneers, stippled grip, antler engraving, prairie rattlesnake...

    Where’s ur hunting property??

Could hunt right out the back door but we only have 3 acres here (with minimal trees) so the experience is not the same to me. I have worked for the DNR going on 20 years on 2 different public hunting properties so I tend to hunt those just as much as my private spots especially during archery...
