    Traditional Bow Recommendations

I've been shooting a 40# Samick Sage recurve and a 35# Wing Archery Red Wing Hunter for a couple years and have been hunting with the Sage exclusively this year and took my first deer with a recurve on opening day. My plan has always been to use the Sage while learning to shoot/hunt with a...

    First Recurve bow kill

Got my first kill with a recurve this morning. It's a little spike but my primary goal this year was to get a recurve kill so I wasn't being picky. I was running late and was only in the saddle 2 minutes before he came in at first light. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

    Prototype Step Pouch from DanO

A couple weeks ago @DanO (Eastern Woods Outdoors) (Doublesteps.com) sent me a prototype step pouch to try out… Before my recent knee problems my primary climbing method was 10 Silent Approach Steps and 5 Squirrel Steps as a RoS. I posted a few comments about the poor quality of the bag that...

    Saddle holster...

Finally found a MOLLE holster that I like for the saddle. It's light, secure, and quiet. Only paid $12 for it at Gander Outdoors. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

First long sit in my new flex...

Got tired of missing doves this morning so I hit the woods for my first long sit in my flex. I love my ROS with Squirrel Steps too... Really glad I upgraded from the Silent Approach steps for the ROS. I also went back to using my HH sticks instead of steps due to pain in my left knee lately...

Made a 1/4 Amsteel bridge and secondary linesman today. I didn't have any knitting needles so I made some fids from old arrows... Worked great. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

    Open Carabiner Indicator

Just a simple little safety precaution... I added a small strip of orange duck tape to my biners to indicate an unlocked biner. If I can see any orange, I know it's not fully locked. Pics below = open, half locked, fully locked

    Trad Guys.... Need broadhead recommendations

This will be my first year hunting with a recurve. I have a Samick Sage 40# that I'm shooting 3-under, fixed-crawl. I have everything dialed in but need to choose my hunting broadheads (whitetails in VA, WV, & PA). I'm pretty sure I'm going with 150gr 2-blade single bevel heads. Anyone have...

What's your EDC kit look like?

Not saddle or hunting related at all but.... The recent thread "Hunting Knives" that Savuk started made me wonder.... What does everyone's full EDC kit look like? Real EDC, not your must-haves for hunting. Mine is as follows: Firearm: Glock 19 Knife: CRKT M16 & Case trapper Multitool: Gerber...

    Fed up with the climber

New member here. I'm completely sick of lugging the climber around and making so much noise climbing. I've been considering getting into a saddle for a while now, and after a miserable day with the climber yesterday I'm going all in and ordering a Mantis. Still researching climbing methods but...
