    Recon tree saddle bridge mod

Just a rope tied on with a hitch on my left side and a prussik knot on the right side. Run through the circular bridge plates. I can tighten it down all the way and it doesn't interfere with walking when heading in to hunt.

    Recon tree saddle bridge mod

I did that to my recon and have zero regrets with the change. I say go for it.

    String cost rant.

Someone already mentioned Archery Shack on this thread. I’ve installed 7 or 8 sets and have been satisfied with them all. 65$ for a 3 piece set.

    Midway Elk Fork Parka

Midway’s Elk Fork Parka is on sale for $39 in realtree edge pattern. Has good reviews and looks to be an even better cold weather piece for this price https://www.midwayusa.com/product/939442032?pid=801293

Down to the final days of the season here in WV. Archery and doe rifle are in but it's unlikely I'll be out tomorrow. Skunked from the saddle it seems.

    Boots you liked/disliked 2023

I use the same in my Kennetreks

    Boots you liked/disliked 2023

I could agree with that. Didn’t encounter any tough terrain while wearing them. Would prefer a higher boot if dealing with lots of obstacles.

    Boots you liked/disliked 2023

I finally used the Crispi Crossovers from the 70$ sportsmans warehouse deal thread. I thought they were going to be too narrow on the toe but ended up really liking them for early season and hiking in general. Other than those few times I used my uninsulated Kennetreks for the entirety of the...

Where to start with one-sticking & rappelling

Two or three sticks with aiders, although I may shorten or ditch the aiders next season. I never hunt very high unless I'm in a climber in an area with big straight trees. That was another reason I ditched one stick climbing. I never moved the stick 3 times after the initial set from the...

Where to start with one-sticking & rappelling

Admittedly, it could be just me. My tolerance for fiddling with rope is well below average but it was enough to turn me off of climbing with one stick and rappelling. It was pretty fun though.

Actual cost to run cell cameras

I used my two tactacams from September until the end of November and cancelled the plans. The least expensive option was more than enough to get me the info I needed for three months of hunting season.

Where to start with one-sticking & rappelling

If less fiddling with gear after your hunt is over is what you're after, there was nothing more annoying to me than dealing with sticks and thorns in 40 feet of rope in the dark. Not talking you out of trying it, just sharing my perspective after doing it for a season and deciding to try...

Muzzleloader season starting here in WV. Might be out this weekend but typically I skip hunting for family stuff at this point in the year. We'll see. Might not end up with 0 deer from the saddle after all.

I saw that too but Amazon is the seller that has them priced at 275 and not a strange third party. Not saying it's a sure thing but appeared legitimate
