Can we start a communal turkey feathers collection/market thread?

I used to do it all the time. I have a grinder set up that I bought from a bow maker years ago. Still use it occasionally, I still have piles of feathers.

    Sitting on your platform?

I use a Drey. No bands needed.

ROS question: do you miss your step?

Never had an issue. Kind of an after thought honestly. Typically I'm pretty close to being in position......no big movements needed.

    Modern fingers bow?

I had a Conquest 4 that I shot with fingers. No issues. I used a NAP flipper rest.

    Is this good enough?

I'd probably go 500 and trim to fit. I'd also get 40# limbs. +2ish# per inch of draw over 28.

    Treehopper Recon

I think it did, but they were useless at best. I suppose maybe they could've helped holding the bottom panel down, but I never had an issue. I simply went in another direction in using a Drey and separate harness.

Private pre sets option ideas. Looking for ideas or suggestions.

Maybe look for a couple of cheap loc on type stands to preplace for the kids. I know nothing of rope climbing, and don't intend to, lol.

Quartering Wind Direction- How close is too close?

I get it. Sometimes you have to make due with the circumstances. For the games I like, a compound increases that range just enough.

    2024 Off-Season Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

Went to the gym on Sunday....I lost a bit of strength but I knew it was going to happen. Looked back on the past week and I had over 21k steps on Friday.

    No Shame Coffee Thread

A good frother is #1. Whips up a hot or cold, creamy topping for your drink. I think we use Nutpods brand creamer.

Quartering Wind Direction- How close is too close?

The reason I go back and forth with a compound. I love my trad hunting, but sometimes you have to have that extra range. We may only be talking 15 yards, but play the game long enough and you'll understand it makes a difference.

Quartering Wind Direction- How close is too close?

I kill 90% of my deer in marginal winds. It's the one tactic I specifically practice and use. Sometimes it's the difference between two trees, as close as 5 yds apart. One gets you picked 99% of the time, the other let's you skate 50% of the time.

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

Turkey bones are no joke. Every one I've shot with an arrow, it stayed in the bird....but I've only used trad equipment. A small washer will reduce penetration as well. I have some small jagged little things that were made to go behind a point specifically for this. Can't remember where I...

Missing the gym, but averaging around 15k steps a day with lacrosse practice. Last night I went from practice to our first dance lesson with my gf. My legs were cooked.

    Need a vanes reccomendation

Anything with a high profile is going to make more noise than something lower. The more helical, the more noise. Material will no doubt make a difference as well. Simple as that.

    Need a vanes reccomendation

It seems less prevalent with the shorter cuts. Just my observation.

    Need a vanes reccomendation

You don't "have" to straight fletch them. I use a decent offset. You can add all the helical you want as long as the feather is in the same orientation and you can get it to stick.
