Spring Gobbler hunting with a bow.

I've bow killed a good number of birds. Body shots can be iffy and I really liked using magnus bulheads. My last two were back in 2017 where I killed both of my birds that year with Bullheads and a 64" recurve! I knew at the time I'd probably never do that again in my life.. LOL Using a...

    Tethrd Predator CFX

These things are getting up there in weight closer and closer to the current lightweight tree stand market. What am I missing? :) Interesting concept but not the weight savings I would have expected.

    Pac Seat Review

Just curious if anyone has had issues getting busted sitting up higher in these chairs. I’d really like to get one but sitting low to the ground has distinct advantages from a profile standpoint. Just curious what you guys have experienced.

    LWCG Tall Post vs 18"

I’ve had the .5 and used both posts. I’m 6’0 for reference. The taller post is worth every dollar. It will make that stand seem bigger and more roomy if used like a regular hang on. I didn’t like that standard post at all. Im using the tall post on the .75 now as well.

Doyles Gear hoist worth the bulk?

I have one but don’t really use it much anymore. It’s a bit too bulky and heavy for what I need. I’ll say it works as intended though. it works so good I had to stop using it with a traditional bow. I’d start climbing my tree and it would want to pick up my bow while climbing! Lol What I...

    Picking a used Mathews

Only thing I'll add is to get a cam 1/2" shorter than your draw. Most Mathews Solos come in a solid 1/2" long. I like the OG Switchback myself. Bought one For $100 off an EBay auction I didn't think I'd win. Rebuilding it from ground up currently and setting it up with a 29.5" cam. I'm...

    Aluminum arrows

I'm going to try and tune one of my longbows to XX75's. 2216, 2117, and 2016 is what I'll probably start messing with. I'll probably go back to 125-150 grain heads up front with the 10-12gpi built into the shafts.

Mad Dog Archery is retiring in March

Mike makes some great bows. I have 68" mountaineer with an Osage riser and brown glass. Great custom bow for $400

The Deer That Should Not Be Dead - The Ultimate Shot Placement vs. Broadhead Story

Man, that's wild! Glad he went down fast!

    Getting gameness out of venison

Care in the field, shot placement is a good start. Doing your own processing and keeping alot of the connective tissue out of the meat is the next step. This isn't convenient or "easy" but if you want good venison this is the only way. Final and most important step in my opinion is proper...

    Hawk Crawler game cart

Yep. Good idea. Maybe just use a Clevis pin on each side. I’d lose them guaranteed when I needed them though! Lol

    Hawk Crawler game cart

I shot a buck on Sunday probably pushing 200# dressed. It was my first experience with the cart and I honestly didn't have a great experience. Issue I had in the field was the folding handle would not lock on the frame very well. This affected the leverage of the cart up front drastically as...

Does most of your satisfaction from deer hunting come from climbing the tree - a poll

I voted no…anymore the trees I hunt dictate lower setups. Plus, I’m a traditional hunter so climbing is the least of my things to focus on.

So are we just not going to talk about the Aerohunter Revolution?

EVO definitely comes to mind seeing that one.

A .5 hybrid setup, a below average jack of all trades, but a master of none.

I typically use my .5 as a tree stand. However, I use the Killdeer harness over a saddle because it's lighter than a typical saddle and I'm only using it to lean in situations that dictate a saddle shot. The other times I'm using it as a stand so this hybrid type harness is ideal off this...

    Nocking Points

Brass on top; nail knot below. For years now, I've tied on my nocking points and that was fine. Last year I bought a good pair of Saunders nocking pliers and a dozen brass nock points that fit my string. No way I'm going back to a tie on nocking point on my top point; the reason being is...

    Simmons tree shark...anybody use one?

I've used the Interceptors and Tiger Sharks. If you have the HP, I'd say you can't go wrong with that head..

    My grandfather’s first bow

Man sorry to see that! You did use a B55 Dacron string on that bow right?
