Tethrd One Stick Gen 3's - Season review so far

In my industry, 3D printed parts are to show form-fit-function, and cannot be used in any type of production as the durability is much less than a production piece. 3D designs are also used to show/demonstrate concepts. Production units are almost always produced differently, ie injection...

    Tethered Rope Size

Me too. It just seems that the thicker rope, although heavier and bulkier, is stronger and is what the Ropeman1 recommends. I rely on the Ropeman1 so it is a no brainer for me. If you're using thinner ropes (8-9mm), the Ropeman 2 or 3 is better, while thicker ropes (10mm and up) work well...

    Tethered Rope Size

I'm more comfortable with 11mm. I think it is personal preference.

    Rapell rope pulldown problems

I had similar problems multiple times and found it frustrating. I eventually moved away from using a rappel rope. I switched to the Tethrd One climbing sticks. 4 steps with an aider on the first step gets me 20 feet faster/safer than I could ever one stick.

    VICE carrier from CGM

^^^That is a great set up, thanks for sharing. I suspect I will do something similar.

    VICE carrier from CGM

^^Thanks for sharing the pics. The folding design seems to fit a lot of platforms/stick combinations.

    VICE carrier from CGM

I just ordered a VICE from CGM. 2 weeks delivery on a custom pack seems very good. One season of carting sticks and pulling my platform in and out of my Badlands pack damaged the pack. The sharp edges on the sticks, particularly Beast Sticks, and platforms, chew up normal packs. The VICE...

How often do you replace your ropes

I'm not sure what rope it is; I purchased with my original Aero Hunter Kestrel kit.

How often do you replace your ropes

My ropes; lineman's rope and tether were purchased in my original saddle kit 4 years ago. I replaced my saddle twice but kept the same ropes. I would say ~ 150- 180 climbs. They look good visually. Under normal climbing conditions, how often are you replacing ropes?

Official admit you fell of your stick thread

I have missed aiders descending in the dark and had a few holly shxt moments. I stopped using aiders after the first step.

    Choosing one smaller platform

I also think the Pursuit platform is tough to beat. I have had multiple platforms, still have a couple, and usually go with the Pursuit. It is so quiet to install and the small compliance the material offers is is more comfortable on my feet..

    Pursuit platforms

I use two squirrel steps to get around the tree. I carry the platform in a backpack for long treks to a tree and then wear it like a belt (the platform on my back) as I climb. When I get to the top step, it is easy to install. The Pursuit is much more quiet than my non-plastic platforms.

    Best Climbing Sticks?

I have these same sticks and concur, the Beast Sticks full length are hard to beat. 2nd best for me would be the Tethrd One Sticks because of the weight and tight packing. When I have a long walk to my hunting spot, the Tethrd sticks become my #1.

    I think I’m done rappelling - Rant/Question

This is one of the most under-reported issues with one-sticking and it has happened to me 2-3 times. Maybe not 20 minutes, but 7-10 minutes of trying to pull the rappel rope down after descending. In thick cover, in areas with multiple trees close together, or if the tree has heavy bark...

Thoughts on Broadside Stands climbing platform???

Cool idea, I appreciate the innovations and love the premise. One issue for me is the 4 safety pins will be easy to lose. Dropping one in the dark is almost a guarantee. Also, will be difficult to secure with cold hands and more difficult with gloves. There has to be an easier way to...

    Genuine Beast sticks?

I have Beat Sticks and the new Tethrd One Stick and tried out the Lone Wolf Custom sticks . I use the Tethrd sticks when I have long walks; they are significantly lighter and pack together tighter. For short walks I use the Beast Sticks, they secure to the tree better than any stick I have...

    GriGri+ mishap….Viewer discretion advised

I have used both and have had the GriGri slip, not a lot, but 4-5 inches, enough for a scare. Never hade a Madrock slip in over 100 climbs.

    Is one-sticking still a thing?

I think the buzz has died down a bit. I invested heavily into one-sticking 2 years ago and saw some advantages, but when Tethrd released 1 lb climbing sticks, that pack tightly together, I went back to sticks. With 4 Tethrd sticks I can get into more trees, faster, with less effort. I use...
