    Dipping your biner

I heat shrink all mine. Some are tough to get around the bends but it can be done. I've never really had a problem with noise when in use, only when putting stuff away up in the tree. Peace of mind I guess.

    Xop platform noise

Used my XOP this weekend for two all day sits and it started to creak bad on the second day. Haven't had time to look at it but it does have nylon washers. There is way more flex in the platform than my assassin's. Going to have to figure it out before I use it again.

    First Time Climbing with Spurs

That's what I want to do next. Although I do think its a lot easier coming down than going up, but on long sits I take off the hooks and that would eliminate putting them back on......plus the fun factor.

    First Time Climbing with Spurs

Hang in there, it gets easier with time. As a lineman I've been climbing for 28 years. Gravity does suck the older we get. The good thing is it's not timed like the linemans rodeo or pole top rescue. Take your time and enjoy. Soon you'll be swinging like a monkey.

    Platform Ear Strength

Do you have a diagram or pic of how you do a stepp knot on the platform? I've been using a couple half hitches and don't really care for it .

    Single rope rappel

Thanks guys. That's why I was thinking it just might work. Wish they made something that small and light that wasn't so slick.

    Single rope rappel

Good to know. I'll just scratch that idea. I climb with my hooks and then take them off for all day hunts. Put them back on and climb down at night. Not a problem, just one more step I'd like to eliminate.

    Single rope rappel

I was worried about that but the Pirana has those extra ears on it that you can wrap the rope around to increase friction. just wondering if anyone has tried it. May have to do some low level testing.

    Single rope rappel

I have 30' of 1/4" amsteel in the blue color that they sent me instead of the gray. They told me to keep it so I was thinking, why couldn't I use it to rappel down with my Petzl Pirana Descender? At 8000 lbs breaking strength it has to be strong enough and oh so light. Anyone know if that...

    Advantages of the Guidos Web

I have changed into a pair of bibs and also put on the heater bodysuit while in the web. Only when using a platform like the Lonewolf assassin and a lineman's belt. It's really not hard at all but I must say that I have been a lineman for the last 26 years so I'm kind of used to hanging around...
