Those who broke their LW Hand Climbers

Hey Gents! A few of you posted about breaking their LW Hand Climbers while using them as a foot platform. Does anyone want to part with the square arms that the belt runs through? Looking for two. No strap just the two arms. S

    LW Hand Climber Mod

Although I am in Cyber Security, I hold a BS in Engineering and did work with metallurgy and gearing. So I was just looking at this thing and I am interested to know judging by design of the investment cast that it would support more weight and mitigate torsion influences if flipped up the other...

You know more than I on the subject. The bowline with Yosemite finish was invented to your point.

    LW Hand Climber Mod

n Thanks Bud. I will run it as long as it lasts. The split down the middle would be consistent with a fulcrum down the center. Also strapping it and limiting its flexibility would increase the odds of it breaking. I have preset 550 cords where there are limbs buy your idea was the best to come...

    Simple Reduntancy

Agreed but when using a jam style knot like a double fisherman it will break before slipping. There are tests out there. I use knots on my tractor winch to lift a front plow and rear plow etc. Have pulled the tractor out of the mud and never had the knots fail.

    LW Hand Climber Mod

So last year I bought a brand new whole system because you couldn't just get the hand section. I used it successfully for the last half of the 2020 season with the bolt mod. Now you guys got me concerned. So there is a high probability of it breaking? I think I may cut the foot section which is...

    Simple Reduntancy

2" buried. The knots are not supporting 100% of the load. Bowlines in climbing are frowned on as well yet I have seen them used with no problem. I have used double fisherman to connect two winch lines on my Farmall A and they are fine full load. Besides if it was to fail that is why there is a...

    Simple Reduntancy

Being a Tradbow Hunter and loving simplicity yet believe in "two is one and one is none" I came up with this bridge idea. It is essentially only one cord but being it uses Prusik style wraps, even if one of the two bridges was severed it would still hold 100% of your weight. Double fishermans...

    Telescoping pole for DRT rope

To preset my trees I usually use my climber or the Decapole 30' to push a girth hitch up the tree when there aren't any branches, like it a pine tree. I then screw in two cheap bow hangers and bend them upward a little so the paracord loop does blow out. I use two in case it did come out of one...

Any reviews of this saddle. The Cruzr saddle

The Prusik Loop is a Brummel Locked buried tail...this is fine. I have made many and this tends to happen not a problem. I prefer to use a closed loop (six wrap Prusik) one side of the long bridge length attached to the saddle loop. The other side I like the same but tie a 5/3 Blakes Hitch...
