2017 Shed Thread

Good luck Red. Bummer on the pig hunt but having little ones myself I know exactly how it goes sometimes!

I feel pretty lucky to have hunted as much as I did this year. I'm bummed about missing the hunt but I can't complain.

I got out to do some scouting a couple weeks ago. I put a lot of miles on my boots and hit up some good bedding areas but didn't find any sheds. I pulled a couple of cameras I had out all year and found out that most of the bucks were still holding their antlers. Last week I saw a pretty 6 pointer on the way home from work still sporting his rack.

I have been skunked here lately myself. I put 10 miles on some public land in PA and didn't find a single shed. I did find one decent dead head but that was it. I think this warm weather has them scattered out and I believe a number of bucks are still carrying like you said. Will be in Ohio a few times in the coming weeks so there is still hope in finding something good!

There is plenty of time before green up so we still have time! And I'd rather find good hunting spots than sheds any day! :p
