#5 Rebar for climbing method ?

Are you drilling and inserting the rebar or climbing up a 10 foot length? :D

I wouldn’t for couple reasons: bolts are cheap, rebar is soft , you’ll never get it back out of the tree last but not least seems like a pretty sharp edge if you came down on it via LB........it absolutely will work but there are way better options.

Has anyone here tried stainless steel bolts? They are much lighter than steel.

What bolts do you recommend?

I played around with rebar way to soft, buy tree hopper bolts or there is a listing on eBay for $32 bucks for 50 grade 8. I use those for my pre sets and keep a set of the coated bolts for run and gun.

Stick with 3/8 grade 8 bolts. Much lighter and stronger than rebar. Plus easier drilling because the hole is half the size. I have free access to short pieces of rebar and buy bolts.
