After I kill a deer it takes me a couple days to get back into it

This year I shot a buck defore getting a doe and I'm experience the same thing. Just no rush to get back out and go through the process. I'm really looking forward to going out in a couple weeks on a nice evening and hunting casually for a doe though.

They are out there just waiting for you to return so they can stomp and snort and alert every critter in the county. I'd be pissed just thinking about it if I were you. She's cant wait to mock you with her long head and big mouth. You gonna put up with that crap?
 
you are asking this group "is this normal"? probably not the right group to ask about anything "normal". :joycat:

you be you. who cares how/what/why anyone else does/feels? feel like hunting? go hunt. feel like fishing? go fish. feel like going to the mall? call a doctor immediately.

life is short. enjoy every day.
 
While the "satisfaction" of the hunt will last for a week to a month, the "sating" effect is for about exactly the same day or a portion of that day lol. Once I have my "venison" quota filled, I may be more selective, but the drive is strong. The experiences are more important to me than the specific harvest success. I would rather hunt knowing I won't shoot anything, than to not go out knowing that I won't shoot anything... Kinda like Thanksgiving, just because I'm absolutely stuffed with dinner doesn't mean that I won't have a drink, and you better believe I'm stuffing a late desert too lmao!
