Anybody try home brew scent killer spray?

There's recipes on the net on how to make your own scent killer liquid.

Anybody have experience with going this route?
 
I think there were some guys using crushed up charcoal on here, but haven't seen any home brew sprays.

The thing to remember about those sprays (at least the commercial ones that I'm familiar with) is that they don't kill scent. They stop bacteria from making new scent. I always thought I was spraying the four wheeler stench off of my boots with those sprays, until I understood the science behind them.
