Battle Belt with Kestrel Flex

Just curious if folks are still running battle belts and if anyone is using one with a flex? I used one back in the sit drag stage but haven’t since buying manufactured saddles. I was walking around today with my platform and two dump pouch loaded out attached to my saddle and it’s not comfortable so I started thinking about integrating a battle belt. I may also lose my chest holster and Cary on the battle belt as well.

if anyone has a battle belt paired up with a flex or other saddle let me know your opinions also post pics of your setup if you have any.

I seen guys using them with the Mantis I sure you could use it with any saddle

I’m switching to the battle belt this year. I have a custom built saddle but could use the BB with any saddle, in fact it would make it very easy for me to swap out to my Kite since I’ve moved everything off the saddle.

For those of you who use a battle belt, have you ever tried using suspenders to keep the saddle up? I use suspenders and have never tried a battle belt. What is the draw of using a battle belt instead of suspenders with commercial saddles?

My BB is almost 9 lbs and I don’t see the need for suspenders, it rides comfortably on my hips without sagging.

I tried suspenders with the flex, then I tried a combat vest with battle belt. I thought I can use the Molle loops for pouches and skip he backpack. I’m back to suspenders and a pack. Compared to the battle belt, I like the “loose” feeling around my hip because I don’t have to cinch the belt tight in order to make the saddle stay in place. Also, I can have the saddle a bit lower, which is more comfortable while climbing with the hand climber and sitting at height.

Battle Belt Mod to Mantis

Just did the battle belt mod to my Mantis. I was already very comfortable in the mantis as is...however, I thought the battle belt mod would be a better platform for storing my dump pouches...it was. It’s also easier to climb with a Helium attached to the battle belt as opposed to adding even...

I actually use industrial carpenters suspenders and continuous amsteel loops to connect the clasp. Works great. I too like to have my Flex loose

Thanks for the responses. I like the saddle to be loose around me and held up with the suspenders (Perry ruf-n-tuf hook end). I guess either would work well enough, depending upon the user’s preferences.

I thought I might be missing something.

After reading this earlier this week I ordered a pair of suspenders from amazon total game changer for me with my flex.
