I'll try to get something in the next day or 2. If I haven't posted something for you by then just bump this to remind me.

Dont feel bad....took me two days to get the thing to work! This is the pic I used. They all work the same. Good luck....I know your pain

Yeah you get all the credit. I zoomed in, took a screenshot, and have it saved in a safe place for the rest of my life lol.

lol. wasn't looking for credit, just possibly saving me the effort of taking another photo. :tearsofjoy:

I have developed a slight variation on the ocb. Last winter, I picked up a couple boat buckles for cheap at wally world. They had some heavy metal hooks at each end. They worked, but were very large and heavy. I cut them off. I bought a metal belt buckle off amazon that was very small and strong. I speedy stitched that onto the strap. On the strap, I placed a couple home made bear paws (but smaller), with camo tape covering them.
For my platform, I use a tree stepp and this ocb strap with the two additional paws. This strap quickly snaps together, and cinches very tight. This let's me work around the tree quite easily.
This seems very stable. I'm just looking for input from you experts, whether or not I'm on the right track.

So like:

{B]=======S=======OCB=======S=========[B}

where B is buckle, S is Step, OCB is OCB?

and you buckle it then use OCB to tighten it down?

IMO if your buckle is rated to a few times your body weight it wouldn't be a problem (of course assuming your always tied in) the ratchet on my ameristep platform is only rated to 1000-1500lbs I only step on it once tethered in so at worst if it broke I'd swing from a leaning position into the side of the tree. As long as your safe with being tied in at all times I personally think its ok.

Well, my ratchet strap has gone askew. So I've just ordered my first boat buckle

Rabidd099,
I placed the buckle just to the left of the ocb so that it wouldn't with the action of the ocb.
BUT... This morning the slightest pressure from the ocb and the regular buckle popped open. So back to the drawing board.

Thanks Robert , I just ordered the bullman steps also that Bob made a video about. I will get one of the straps that everyone is using. My next question is how is everyone keeping the ratchet quiet or less noisy when attaching to the tree ?
