I’m considering getting a bow mounted cell phone holder, not for filming for production, but simply to record the shot to check shot placement.

Any of you do this? Does it really work or help much?

Couple threads on them but here’s one anyway that might help you out.

I got a muddy one sitting in my bin in the garage. I tired it some around the house, but never in real time scenario.
Concerns where dropping my phone trying to get it out and use it. Or missing the shot cause my bow drops.

THP has one on their site. https://www.thehuntingpublic.com/products/thp-mag-pro-plus?variant=44289359642847

I’ve not tried this one personally. The magnet option is appealing for quick attachment but I would think it would mess with mapping software used for navigation. When I did try something similar, the picture quality was bad at the shot from the shot vibration. I also struggled to remember to keep the stab pointed at the target after the shot so got more footage of the ground than the animal.

I’d get a budget Tactacam with stabilizer/picatinny mount. Save yourself the nuisance of double-duty on your phone and just get a dedicated cam that’s fairly inexpensive and purpose-built for your exact needs. Got one last year myself, completely upgraded my recovery game. Worth every cent over the phone mounts I’d tried in the past.

I appreciate everyone’s advice. After watching a couple of videos from bow mounted cell phones, it really doesn’t look that helpful for what I’m wanting. Guess I’ll keep an eye out for a Tactacam and go that route.
