Buckle Covers for the Kestrel leg straps

I know, right? Hopefully he's just really busy and hasn't been on the forum much.

I just cut up some old beer koozies and used a speedy stitcher to sew up 3 covers. It was pretty easy

So, I'm probably going to buy the material to make some of these for my Kestrel and my lone wolf buckles.

Is there still enough people interested in them to make it worthwhile to offer them again? I'm thinking I'll blanket stitch them together by hand? Maybe do them in tan or Olive drab?

I'd still like a set.

I'm looking at ordering the neoprene Friday. I'll have to play around with the design and do some "prototype testing" to make sure I'm not ashamed of them. If everything looks good I'll post pics and let you guys decide if you're still interested. If you guys have any input about what you'd like to see let me know. I'll be upfront and say I'm doing this because

A. I want to give back to a community that's done a lot for me. This is small, but it's something.
B. I am a greedy, greedy capitalist and am looking to fund some gear.

These are going to get made a few at a time while I sip a beer and play some tunes. This'll be a new thing for me so I don't want to promise too much, but I'll do my best to deal square with everybody.

So here's what I came up with. Thin, foam core neoprene material, similar to what's used on cheap beer coozies. 3.5" long. Hand stitched by a mediocre American Craftsman and an ugly dog.

Disclaimer, these are NOT rubber, they are foam core. They don't seem to squeeze the buckle release buttons at all, but if I sell these they are very much use at your own risk. They fit the Kestrel leg buckles and the lone wolf buckles. I'm thinking same price as the guy that stopped selling them, $15 for 3 shipped, and $4 per additional cover.

So, do you need to slide it over the buckle after you buckle up each time or do you out it over the buckle and leave it there?

Slide it over each time. If you're using it for a lone wolf buckle it can stay. It compresses around the buckle, which makes clicking it shut problematic. It bunches the material between the buckle.
