Calling for 2 inches of rain on Veteran Day in my area - take the chance?

Planning to go Saturday too. But should I just sit out Friday? 2 inches seem a lot. I have saddle hunt it the rain with on/off showers, but never in heavy rain before. I am willing to stay on the ground too.

But for the Saturday after the rain, should I alter my plans based on the rain the previous day? I was not planning to but open to suggestion.
 
HUNT THE RAIN!!!!! honestly hunting in rain is my favorite weather to hunt. Deer just seem to move all day in it. I like to move real painfully slow through the edges of bedding and thermal cover like pines. Also if it's a rain that'll have a hard break or have a hard end point you definitely want to hunt that change they'll move regardless of what time of day it is.
 
i dont think i can get out friday, you can borrow my tree umbrella if you want to come pick it up (college park) and let me know how it works as i havent braved the rain with it yet. its a screw in type so i was planning on screwing it into a small piece of 2x4 and strap that on to the tree oh so elegantly. It may be cheaper getting one from walmart than burning the gas, but i'm not doing anything with it any time soon if youre interested.

I'm thinking goose pit and full body doe decoy in the middle of a 200 acre field.
 
Wondering the same thing. Are you bow hunting or gun hunting? I could be pretty confident of a stalk-n-shoot setup with a rifle. They can be laid over pretty quick. Im afraid with bowhunting the blood trail could be lost and recovery would be very tough.
 
That's when I ask myself, isn't this supposed to be fun? I don't mind the cold at all and I'm ok with a light drizzle, but heavy rain, no thanks, I'm out. My schedule is flexible enough I can GSD and live to hunt another day. If I had to book the entirety of my hunting days in advance of a 5-day weather forecast and already committed to that being a limited day I can fit hunting in my schedule, maybe a different story.
 
Absolutely - especially when there is going to be a break. Ideally I like to move into a spot when the rain is coming down hard and make all the noise and setup. As soon as there is a break in the rain, be ready.

Now most of my rain hunts are in a ground blind so I stay fairly dry. Call it what you will but I call it being comfortable and dry.
